I thought I'd chime in on my experience with this drop. It shipped 7 days earlier than the expected date (awesome). And arrived in great shape no problems. Wall mounted it with a fancy OmniMount full motion over my fireplace. LOVE IT! Today I got an email from LG that it had been registered with my serial number and model number. I hadn't signed up for an account on lg.com but my email (same as massdrop) was "already in use" so I did a password change and logged in. It's showing up right there in my new LG account as a registered product with full warranty. So Massdrop must have registered my tv with LG for me. Really happy with this drop. Great price. Fast shipping. Can we finally put this "no warranty, Massdrop isn't an authorized vendor" stuff to bed now? It was annoying how often this misinformation comes up in this discussion thread.

fizzyliftingdrinkWhere did you go to login to your LG account? I'm trying to look for the same thing. I also received the email stating my warranty was registered.
I managed to find it nevermind.

fizzyliftingdrinkI'm glad you and others have had a good experience with these TV drops but it's just not a good look to have your name listed on the company's website as 'unauthorized' and then advertise as providing the full warranty. Even if it's not Massdrop's fault, they should be pushing harder to clear up the miscommunication.

ecolemanthey have so much going on something that upsetting to you you should email support and ask. They will get to the point where they will clear up any confusion before it begins.

pvrseTake a minute to look through this discussion thread an you'll see this isn't something that's just upsetting me, it's causing confusion across the board. If you advertise something you're selling as warrantied by the manufacturer and that manufacturer explicitly lists you as an unauthorized dealer and will not honor the warranty, you've got trouble on your hands. Massdrop should be working harder to fix this instead of brushing it off as an issue on LG's end.

ecolemanI think people should learn the federal laws (and local laws that pertain to them) concerning warranties. What ever the warranty on the box states is null and void. They're just there to discourage people. So get your local statutes, and know them when you're having warranty issues. Just because it says one thing on the box or in the warranty booklet, means absolutely nothing unless it supersedes the federal warranty requirements.

All I know about federal/state warranty regulation is that it should be guaranteed for a reasonable period of time... which seems to mean almost nothing.

ecolemanUhm, that's pretty much standard practice with MD. They just HATE correcting any erroneous information or double-checking it before posting on their website. Every other drop has wrong info in it and MD doesn't care.
