I have the 55 inch B7A and this is a phenomenal deal! I bought mine in August of last year and the picture quality is ridiculous! The black levels are insane. I cannot see anything in my living room when the screen is black and have to use my phone to see anything. I bought it through a 1 day sale on Slickdeals and paid $1,550 with free shipping through BuyDig. This Massdrop price is even lower. OLED has the best picture quality and black levels out of all the display types. HDR is great and this model supports both HDR10 and Dolby Vision. I'm pretty sure LG will be supporting this TV for a while with updates and possibly HDR10+ (dynamic metadata to compete with Dolby Vision). For those wondering what the difference is between the lower priced B7A and the more expensive models:
*It has a silver trim instead of the all black trim on the more expensive models. This is not noticeable while watching a movie or show. *It does not support Dolby Atmos through the TV speakers but if you use a sound system you'll still get Atmos. I'd recommend a sound system as most TV speakers aren't very good. *The back of the the TV is white instead of black or gray like on the other models. *I believe it has a few less calibration options if you play around with the picture settings.
That's all I can think of. All of LG's 2017 OLED's have the same picture quality regardless of price. Playing 4k HDR movies from a flash drive works great and webOS (operating system) is very quick and one of the best for TV's. LG's 2017 OLED's have won many awards for picture quality. Plus LG makes the OLED panels for other brands. I'd still get the 2017 model over the 2018 version. There isn't enough of a difference between them to pay $1,000 (for 55 in) more. Once 12bit panels come around (all OLED are 10bit at the moment) then that will change. Just my thoughts for those considering this TV.
