Is there a measurement about MKIII SE? I know it's a new model from littledot and was released last year. But I'm a bit curious I cannot find any measurement of this model. I don't want to spend $400 for a amplifier with brief tech data only. MKIII SE is not very popular on Chinese headphone website also, such as erji.net I searched erji.net with google, and only see many people want to sell their MKIII SE so I don't know whether I should join this drop.

I am very interested in this amp to drive my HD 650's. Is there anyone who actually got this amp able to comment on their experience. This amp is pretty new and there is not a lot of reviews. If you do have it, could I know what source you are inputting, which input, what are you listening to and what headphones you have. Thanks very much in advance.

I think anyone considering the new crop of "low cost" balanced headphone amplifiers should read Benchmark's article on the matter. https://benchmarkmedia.com/blogs/application_notes/audio-myth-balanced-headphone-outputs-are-better In my experience, the cost of balanced audio is better spent on a higher quality amplifier or headphones.

jedi5diahI'm not sure why this is a question. There's plenty more audiophile grade equipment that costs more than this unit.
If you don't need balanced, Newegg has the MKIII for $219 shipped.

SephHaleyBased on the official site, it looks quite new:
http://www.littledot.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=10332
and the $500 vs. $550 MSRP estimate is likely due to the price difference on Little Dot's website without and with shipping to N. America.

If this was all-tube, still balanced, and around $400 I'd be sold.

AReasonableManThere's probably a reason that full tube fully balanced amps are expensive like the $2000 WA22 from Woo Audio.

rhenomYes, capitalism. With Woo you're paying for crazy build quality. Little Dot themselves have fully balanced models, but at around 1k.

I picked up the dot III on MD for half the price shipped! Is balanced worth it? The dot III also has preouts. I don't see any outs on this amp.

berryhillWhile it may not be needed by most, my amp doulbles the power using bal vs single, which can be a good thing. Also a quality balanced amp can reduce crosstalk and improve separation. Do people need balanced, no. While the cost is maybe not worth the expense, I would not call the balanced topology snake oil.
