As it is, the main reasons to buy a Copper Tool or a Massdrop Brass/Titanium tool right now are either a strong preference for Nichia and/or a strong preference for a clicky switch on an AAA... Because other lights (Olight i3S, etc) kinda destroy these as far as efficiency/runtime goes.
FWIW, I bought two Brass Tools w/Nichia LEDs because the color rendition really is nicer for photography and/or inspecting stuff, and they look cool... Looks/novelty also makes them a nice gift and the clicky switch and mode order makes it a good nightstand light.
I even bought a Copper Tool elsewhere for my camera bag... None of them are my EDC/keychain choice tho, not when I can get the same lumens and a full hour on high or 6+ hours on medium out of other more efficient lights.
