Hi guys,
I'm so sorry for any inconvenience you guys may be having.
Just to clarify, when you guys say it does not fit on the back, are you saying it doesn't fit at all? Or that it doesn't go 100% flush with the end of the LYPEN?
Because the LYPEN is titanium, when we designed the post for the pen cap we accounted for a slight deviation in repeated use. Meaning that if you post the cap on the end of the pen but it's not 100% flush with the LYPEN- you can rest assure that it's perfectly normal.
Over time after normal usage it'll slowly fit perfectly.
Hope this helps, Mark Anthony

MarkAnthonyHi Mark. In my case, the cap doesn't post at all. I can squeeze it on maybe a millimeter with enough force -- there is a small amount of flex in the material. But it definitely does appear that the glassbreaker end is slightly out of spec compared to the rest of the pen. I can get some photos tonight if that would be helpful.

DataHi Data,
That would be wonderful.
Amongst the thousands we've sold, we've not heard of the cap not posting at all so I'm more than glad to fix this.
To clarify any confusions, the LYPENs that everyone recieved is the same exact LYPEN shown in the images here by Massdrop.
Best, Mark Anthony

MarkAnthonyHi @MarkAnthony
These are photos of my pen - you can see how far the cap posts on the end in them, which is only about a millimiter and that's if I really push hard.

MarkAnthonyMark, I snapped a few photos and created an album here: http://imgur.com/a/3uQVE
I borrowed some calipers and took a few measurements. As you can see, the cap will only post on the extreme end of the glass breaker and it is slightly marking the surface there due to friction. The post measured out at a little over 0.355 and the interior of the cap measured at 0.353 -- I remeasured several times. Those 2 thousandths are enough to keep it from posting properly, but I also noticed a very slight taper in the post that might add another .001 to that. There's no way it's going to fit.
It's worth noting that the cap fits BEAUTIFULLY over the business end of the pen and snaps into place with a satisfying "tap". It's my favorite feature of the pen. So really it's just the post that's a problem. Any chance you could send us just that piece?

rolyatagThanks for putting up the photo's rolyatag. That is exactly how the cap on my Lypen sits when attempting to post it on the back of it. It only slides down approximately 1 millimeter and then gets stuck.
