Just received these. Put them on, and immediately got goosebumps. I can't remember the last time I was so impressed by a headphone/IEM. Historically I'm not much of an IEM guy because I never feel like I can get one that sounds pleasing enough. My only other sets are Klipsch S4, which are meh, and Etymotic Research HF5, which are alright, but aren't exciting. For reference, my current headphones are HE-400i, DT770, and TH-X00. I have Fidelio X2, DT880, and some others, but they don't see much use. The X00 are new to me, and I'm still debating how I feel about them. If only I could combine all the best parts from each the X00 and the 400i, and I'd never have to find another headphone. Anyways...
Initially tried black front and back since it seems to be the popular choice. While it sounded good, and the bass was fun, it was too congested. I took the back filter off, and it opened up a little. Then I switched back to the default blue front and put the red back on. Wow! At this point I had only been sourcing it straight from my S7 phone. I felt like there was a bit of a veil on male vocals. I switched over to FiiO Q1 as a source and it took care of that. So far I haven't tried anything past the Q1 because it is sounding so great already. That and my other amps might be too much for an IEM.
Also, the packaging was really nice. Some extra O-rings were included to cover eating through a few while switching the filters around.
Very happy with this purchase so far.
