Just based on my experience with M-Audio products, I'd recommend that you try one of these in a store and make sure the pads are better made than they were with the Axiom Pro series. Specifically, hook it up to a DAW or a sound module and play the pads. Here's why: The Axiom Pro pads are unusable because they double- and triple-trigger. I ended up reassigning mine to ASCII commands, which has worked out great – but it's definitely disappointing to pay for a manufacturer's highest-end keyboard and have whole sections of it malfunction right out of the box. They've also been quite quick to ditch support (driver updates, etc.) over the years.

tweeCKedI had the same issue with my Axiom 25 (non-pro) a few years ago. It was my first MIDI device when I was starting to get into making music, the drivers you've mentioned & the pads, left a sour taste and I ended up not using it as much as I'd liked. So yes, confirming for others, try one out in store first.
