I'm doing quite some cooking, but knife is one thing that I can't really buy online. Lots of things have to be taken into consideration prior to purchase (e.g. handle, it's balance, how it fits in your hand depending on your grip). And after all it's all about steel preference - whether you like your knife to retain sharpness longer but having to invest into sharpening kits and learn how to sharpen knives correctly. It seems to be a nice knife, but it's very hard to pick one without trying it out first yourself. After trying lots of different knifes of all price ranges I'm currently sold to Global knives due to their quite unique handles and my stupid usual way of handling knife (G-48 is my primary tool, though I have quite few of them). But every other person's mileage may vary.

Greywindlawl just go with poorman ferrari brands like the one made in usa. Honestly anything beyond 100 bucks for a single knife is overkill for a casual practical person feeding himself or his family, if I'd ever buy one expensive one, I would NOT choose ugly ones like this or the germen ones. I'd def go with japanese with engravings.
