I've owned this for about a year and a half now, and it's already time for a new mount. When it gets below freezing the "claw" closing mechanism becomes incredibly stiff and makes it very difficult to close. When you put that much pressure on it -- the teeth "skip" and once it skips it's impossible to reset the teeth back to their original offset. The result is that it holds your phone off-center. This honestly wasn't a big deal the first or second time -- but now it's skipped about three times and it's starting to become a functional issue. It's so off center now that the "feet" at the bottom interfere with the charging cable. One or two more times it will not be able to hold the phone anymore.
I do not drive very often, so for your average person I would except it to last one to two winters in a northern climate. I personally haven't had the issues others are reporting -- and if I was in a warm climate would probably be satisfied.

Individual packages have started to ship! The vendor confirmed earlier that majority of the group's order has been sent out with the rest scheduled for pickup shortly. Once your package is scanned into the courier's system an email will be sent with shipping confirmation and tracking info.

While preparing the order for shipment our vendor noticed that a large portion of the units were not in sellable conditions. They have contacted the manufacturer and they are currently having a new bulk order shipped to their warehouse. Based on the estimates provided this bulk shipment will arrive at their warehouse on 12/9. As soon as it arrives at the vendor's location, they will ship the individual orders directly to you.
