There Are Pandas, and Then There Are Pandas.
And this isn't either of them! The Pandas we're talking about here, are watches, not bears. And what got me thinking about them (again) was a link posted this morning by @cm.rook who pointed a few of us to the very attractive (and not terribly priced) Yema "Rallygraph" Panda which, in it's most traditional arrangement, looks like the one on the left, but can also be had in the version on the right: The model on the left is a true Panda, while the model on the right is called a reverse Panda. The reason for that distinction is clear--Panda bears, only come in the first arrangement. Now at this point, everyone should be thinking about the most well-know Panda, The Rolex Panda, which is actually a Daytona, and among Rolex Daytonas, the most famous of which is the Paul Newman Daytona, which was famous first, because it was Paul's, and second because it sold at auction for $17.8 million (US Dollars). The story of that auction is well-known so I'll only...

I'd love to get a response from the manufacturer, but if anyone has one of these pens and can try an Energel .7mm refill in it, that would be just as helpful. Thanks!
I don't have a Pentel refill to compare to but maybe you may have a Mont Blanc Rollerball refill to compare to your Pentel refill. I was able to fit a Mont Blanc refill using a small modification, if you Google "Pilot G2 MontBlanc Modification" you'll find an Instructables article on how exactly to do the modification step-by-step. By just looking at some images of the Pentel refill it might fit, it looks very similar to the G2 refill that comes with the Machine Era Pen.
So the mod went like this, the Mont Blanc Rollerball refill is just a tad longer than the G2 refill, really they just have a little extra plastic at the end.
Cutting a little extra off the end of the refill does not jeopardize the cartridge in any way, its just a hollow plug.
Now just put the pen back together and you are good to go. The Mont Blanc refill fits tightly in the Machine Era pen and there is zero rattle. All in all, IMO, its a nice upgrade for a nice pen. I think a base model Mont Blanc Rollerball pen is around $250. The Mont Blanc Rollerball refills are $17 from the Mont Blanc website.
Hope this helps out!
