How does one go about cleaning this mat?
This looks an awful lot like the insulation/padding used as sound deadening in the trunks of some automobiles. So... does this have any binders or chemicals? Really JUST felted 100% wool? Nothing else? Don't want to breathe the steam from chemicals !!
Great product. Watch what is under it as the heat will transfer through it after a bit of pressing.
I like mine, and so does my cat, she likes to sleep on the ironing board, so when I am not using it, I put it away, so she does not damage it. I like it for pressing, it gets the wrinkles out of the fabric better than any iron I every had. Happy I bought it.
I love it when I use a dry iron. The downside is that the heat will transfer to whatever you have underneath the pad If you have a lot of pressin to do over a short period of time, and if you use steam, whatever is underneath the mat will become moost and warm. I use a heat-resistant silicone pad underneath it and this solved my issues.
Works very well! Glad I bought!
Love this mat. . .I go to quilting retreats and it travels so well! I did order the larger of the two mats and I wish it was about 6 inches wider.
The mat works great - I just wish it was larger
I love this mat. It is light so I can take it class without adding much weight.
I love this mat! Just the thing I needed to take my sewing to the next step. I use it for quilting, project sewing, embroidery and garment sewing. I have several to cover my ironing board and have givevsome as gifts. Great product and great price on Massdrop- thx!
Perfect for small pressing projects. will take to my retreat this weekend. Wish it was big enough to cover my entire board. It is definitely a better press. Planning to move it closer to my machine when I return.
It's everything I had anticipated. Great for pressing quilt blocks as the seams just seem to melt into the surface and give you a crisp fold. It is portable, so I take it to classes and retreats. I have also placed it close to my sewing machine so that I can be more efficient when pieces....I just make a little twist and I can iron without getting up and walking to the ironing board. I have recommended this item to others. They have bought it and are also very satisfied. Great product that I highly recommend.
I Love this mat! It grabs the fabric and keeps it from distorting, it also gives you very flat seams. It truly makes a world of difference in the pressing of quilt blocks! Wouldn't trade it.
I love this mat. It is very handy to have next to you on a small side table. It presses with no wrinkles and does not push the seam outline onto the front of the fabric.
The mat is fabulous. I love the way my seams are so tight and flat. What a difference it makes for assembling quilt tops.
Love this mat! It’s great from pressing small pieces to the finished block.
I love, love, love this pressing mat. It is amazing how flat my quilt blocks are turning out by using it. I was skeptical but I’m sold on it now
Excellent! Wonderful for pressing quilt blocks!
The MAT is an asset to my ironing skills....it is exceptional when pressing embroidery. So happy I purchased !
I love this pressing mat.
I love this product, it is excellent for pressing quilting seams! Everything is pressed in half the time and I only use water as a spray and do not need other fabric sprays. I have both sizes of pressing mats and would like a larger one for pressing larger pieces of fabric etc.
I've ordered two and will use nothing else.
I love my larger pressing mat. It takes the heat easily and creates a crisp flat seam. I use it on my pull out desk right beside my machine. I don’t even have to get up to iron. Best Buy I’ve made.
I have this ironing mat. It makes pressing seams so much easier. And nice flat ironed fabric without pushing down. Well worth it I think.
The pressing mat is tops; I love it particularly whenever I'm pressing embroidery.
I had thought about getting the smaller one, but now happy that I didn't. I use it for pressing seams when quilting. It really does make a big difference. I did check Amazon before ordering from here, and I do have Amazon Prime, at that time this was by far the better deal.
I’d be lost without the pressing mat!!!
I have heard great things about this product but with the shipping charge, this may not the greatest deal. If you have Amazon Prime, it ends up being within $1 of the total price for the smaller one here and you get it within a few days.
I already have the small mat, I am joining the drop to purchase the large one. I love how my fabric doesn't shift when I am ironing with it. My binding is also so much easier to fold and iron while using this. I need to purchase the larger one because the 12 x 18 inch mat won't accomodate a full 12 1/2" block without me having to move it around. I would keep that in mind when deciding what size mat to purchase.

When you use your mat with steam, does the dampness go all the way through to your table surface? I think these look great and would be a real plus for my quilting, but don't want to ruin my cutting table (I keep my present ironing mat at the end of the table).

I normally place my mat on top of my ironing board. I think if you don’t have anything underneath the steam could reach the table. When I am pressing small pieces, I use a June Tailor pressing board that I got from Joanns. I use that on my table top and then set my wool pressing mat on top of that. That is enough protection for my table top.
Saw it for $48 dollars for the large one-. Just can't remember where!

But, that is for the 12x18.
