I like the light, but I feel that the lens is a little exposed since it is bulging out. I also would like a red filter to put on it for night use. Has anyone a solution for some protection or a filter holder?

jst1523If you can get a drill &/or do some wood carving it probably wouldn't be too difficult/expensive to turn piece of wood into a small cap piece that would just pop over the top of the light & has a hole with a red gel filter over it. Make another without the gel and you've got protection for the lens. I'd imagine if you drilled the inner hole a little small & then slowly sanded it out you could get it to grip the top, or you could get an o-ring of some kind.
Or you could use some tape.
