Hey everyone! I just wanted to clarify this light does not ship with a battery and the shipping rate has been fixed to account for that. If you previously paid more for shipping please contact Community Support under you transactions tab (https://www.massdrop.com/transactions) and let them know so they can fix that for you. Thanks for pointing this out and I hope this will help anyone who was on the fence because of shipping costs.
ISKThanks @IsaacK for sorting-out the shipping fees for us.
Ordered one to complement my copper Maratac CR123.
Hope you guys will release a brass version in the near future
To Massdrop,
Why do the overseas shipping cost more than doubled from the previous Maratac CR123 copper?
I paid US$6.25 for shipping to Singapore for the copper, but this stainless steel will set me back US$13 for shipping?
What gives? The weight of both lights are not much different, with both around 3oz.
JonasHeinemanI would understand that if this light comes with the battery, but on the description page, it says only comes with a spare O-ring.
My copper Maratac CR123 which I bought from Oct 2015 drop only came with a spare O ring inside the plastic box.
So, does this steel CR123 comes with the battery or not?
Hey everyone -- Great news: The production run hasn't quite finished and we've been able to work with the vendor to make this an even better offer. You will now see a pretty serious price reduction and a very accessible drop point for this brand new SS version of the CR123 light that is only available here on Massdrop.
We hope this will help the drop to be successful, and we're grateful to the members who have already joined to get this rolling as well as our partners at CountyComm who manufacture the Maratac line. Enjoy!
Thanks for the reply @JonasHeineman . Sorry to hear about that. I've been buying stuff from the US for a few years now and its the first time I ever saw shipping to argentina and not to my country. I have no idea what is your logistics partner, as I've personally ordered stuff from USPS, UPS, DHL and FEDEX , and all arrived here safely. I' would really love to join the drop and buy one of these. Is there really no way to send it ?
lucassupernovaHey @lucassupernova -- Thanks for the info, you're welcome to use a freight forwarding service but they usually charge $25+. We do not currently offer shipping options that would enable shipping to Brazil :(
SlapsMacrackenWe show this order as 100% shipped, if you're still having issues with delivery please submit a help ticket via My Transactions in your member profile.
JonasHeinemanThank you for your reply. My apologies. I should have been more clear. You are correct; as near as I can tell the order appears to be 100% shipped on your end. However, it is, unfortunately, also 0% delivered on my end. The breakdown appears to have happened with FedEx. I've already asked MassDrop for help tracking it down, and Kevin is on the case. He said if I don't hear back from him by February 23, to contact him for an update. So that's what I will do. I was just reaching out to see if anyone else had a shipping issue, or if the shipping issue is confined to me alone.
Over the last few months I've sent numerous messages to customer support regarding my faulty Maratac Copper Cr123 and had no response what so ever...I'm hoping that by commenting on an active drop for a similar Maratac product I will get an answer to my query.
Thanks
I would say the same, except sadly they didn't have parts for any possible repair on my out of warranty AAx2 rev 2. They did contact me at the very least and say they'd get back to me when they do...we'll just have to wait and see if that happens or if they even plan to continue production of it. They were kind enough in the emails as well, so there's that, just sucks that for now I have an expensive paper weight.
A shame they won't put on the customs declaration that it's a gift. £15 is quite a bit on top of the $60 for light and postage.
Would be handy if somewhere else sold this and posted to the UK
The thing about the high customs charge that you have to remember is that there's a long and respected tradition of piracy as a way of funding British government (think Walter Raleigh, etc).
NinjasquirrelUnless this is 303 (and even if it is 303, really) the material here is much different in a manufacturing sense than copper, and probably doesn't cost a whole lot less per piece either. Depends on the grade though.
