No need for masking tape or sticky notes that don't stick. Marilee’s Numbered Pins are an organized means of keeping quilt blocks orderly, rows and columns numbered, and projects neat and clean Read More
I love these pins for keeping my fabric separated and labeled when piecing and keeping rows sorted. They hold up well and 1 box is enough for a project. BTW, there is numbers 1 to 20 in the box. Massdrop has made these pins affordable.
The pins are sturdy steel and have heavy plastic heads clearly numbered .
The plastic tops are NOT heat resistant so do not get your iron too close or they will melt!
There are plenty of pins for most projecto, I just wish they went beyond the 12 digits for the projects with more steps or pieces.
The only negative is the case they came in:
There are pie shaped slots for each bunch of numbered pins. There is a closing latch lid. The problem is the lid is not sealed tight or close to the pie sections.
The problem?
There’s just enough space between the slots and the lid that unless the container lays perfectly FLAT at all times you will open it to find a jumbled mess of pins in no order at all. And beware if the container gets near magnets!
i have been laying a piece of saran type wrap across the pins once they’re “ in order” again to keep them from from “ jumping out” of their own slots. Before closing the latch lid. This can be reused many times.
If it wasn’t for the numerous hours I spent reorganizing these pins back into the correct ordered spots, I would give them a 5 star rating.
The pins are great as far as design and use but they should have the numbers on both sides. My only real complain with them is that the numbers will smudge off if you are no careful with spraying and ironing your pieces. I guess they are more for looks than actual use?
