Armed with an aggressive tanto blade, the Attilio Morotti–designed Maserin AM4 looks rather intimidating—and at 8.6 inches overall, it’s no small folder. The blade, made from premium Bohler M390 stainless steel, is deployed with a small, unassuming flipper. Almost like a front flipper, it’s hardly noticeable in the closed position, and not apparent at all when the knife is open. The handle is comprised of carbon fiber scales that are intersected by a wood insert of your choosing. Inside the scales rests a stainless steel liner lock to secure the blade. Another key design element is the “ghost” pocket clip. Press on the jimped backspacer and out pops a pocket clip. Likewise, if you prefer to go clipless, just keep the pocket clip tucked away in the body of the handle.
