Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

For all of the Sennheisers that were placed in this grab bag the average "Shipping Weight" is anywhere from .3 ounces to 6.4 ounces, And take what I say with a grain of salt because the Amazon shipping weight is pretty bogus. (Where I got the information on the weights for comparison)
Shipping Weight (Sources: Amazon Description)
Sennheiser CX 1.00
2.4 Ounces = .15 pounds
Sennheiser CX 2.00G
.3 Ounces = 0.01875 pounds
Sennheiser CX 2.00i
2.4 Ounces = .15 pounds
Sennheiser CX 5.00G
4 Ounces = .25 pounds
Sennheiser CX 5.00i
6.4 Ounces = .4 pounds
Ok, I understand these weights are off or they look like it to me, but its supposed to give you a rough estimate for what the received could be.
For the other "Special" items knowing that most of them are Massdrop made for there would be no way for me to do any digging on Amazon for shipping weights, so I decided to use a rough estimate with different headphones. (Ath M50x, Akg k240, Beyerdynamic DT770, and Sennheiser HD650)
(Excluding the CEntrance DACport Slim which is just an normal item which I found to be 2.4 Ounces = .15 pounds)
The weights ranged anywhere from 1.3 pounds (K240's) to 3.3 pounds (HD650's), with the others ranging in the mid 2+ pounds.
So in the end, now you got... um.... well.... something you could look at to think about what you did or didn't get. If you got something that is not a a pair of earbuds their is a high chance that it is +1-2 pounds, and if you ended up with a weight <.5 pounds and >1 pound then you probably didn't get stuck with one of the Sennheiser listings like the 1.00 or the 2.00, maybe the 5.00, and ended up with either a special or like I said a 5.00.
Please do take what I say with a grain of salt, because this could be highly inaccurate or it could not. The answer will arrive at your doorstep soon enough. And my motivation for writing this is also over. Hope this helped ;).
