@massdrop, @AveryCorley, anybody at Massdrop - please consider using something other than FedEx Smartpost. It's an unreasonably slow shipping option and it makes a tough customer experience (waiting 4 months for a product to ship) even worse. My headphones shipped Friday, 9/29 from Edison, NJ which is ~250mi or a 5 hr drive away. These headphone are being delivered tomorrow, 5 *DAYS* after the fact. If my shipper only managed 50/mi a day, I'd assume they were on horseback, OR they simply didn't want my business. For comparison, I've received packages via UPS Ground from NJ in one/two days. I'd be happy to pay a few more bucks for a better experience, or y'all can spare a few dollars from your bottom line so that your customers are a little happier for the already long wait.

walkwitheYou do realize that these weren’t supposed to ship till October 10th? I think you will be just fine waiting for them a couple more days. Your still getting them earlier than initially quoted.

walkwitheYou bitch about 5 extra days when you already waited months for it to be made? sigh lol.

c0ldYeah, I like your logic. Let's encourage Massdrop to utilize one of the slowest domestic shipping options around, because we already agreed to wait. Shoot, maybe they could even find something slower than FedEx Smartpost so that I can wait even longer for actual DELIVERY, as long as they give me an already inflated ship date. Maybe if we expect more from Massdrop, we might get more.

svtcobra00Yes, this is not life or death, and not at all a big deal to wait a few days. Thanks for the unnecessary pro life coach tip. Massdrop is well known for inflated ship dates that protect their production schedules, and all I'm saying is that they could make this small improvement for your benefit and mine. Unless you long to be a Massdrop shill and want everyone to suck it up and accept sub-par service, because most consumer electronics companies do it better.

walkwitheIt’s just a method of shipping. Thats all it is. Many companies use it.

walkwitheThe way I see it the longer the package is in transit, the more likely it is to get damaged in transit.

jm090Is yours on the same truck as mine? Stuck outside of Toledo, moved 15 miles in 40 hours?
walkwitheWhy do you think drops are cheaper than retail!? Massdrop saves money anywhere they can, ITS THE POINT. Either buy from Massdrop and know deliver is going to take a while but get you a product at a cheaper rate, or don't buy at all / use Amazon. Seems pretty simple. If you don't like it don't buy it. It's not like you can't live without these headphones...

givemeyourshoesYup your right. FedEx ground is $9.73 and FedEx Smart Post is $9.29. $0.44 saved! (Zone 4, >1lbs <2lbs) Well, OP is Zone 3.. so $8.60 vs $9.09... $0.49 Saved!
GernapiousSure, those are the rates you have access to. With the volume Massdropnare ships, I promise you that they are paying much less. And if it's in FedEx best interest, they would give them a lower rate for smarrpost. Decisions like this are not made lightly, and for good reason. Economies of scale blah blah blah
