newbie here, I was looking at the schiit stack as my first amp/dac combo...how does this compare or I should still stick with the schiit stack?

EbokobbyWell, if you use the balanced output, the amp section puts out more power overall. The unbal is less than the schiit stack overall. The DAC sections are going to be pretty identical probably.

EbokobbyI highly recommend you consider getting the Micca Origen G2.
USB in to dac/amp, has both 1/4" & 3.5mm jacks, and has a switch to swap outputs so I can go from headphone to speaker with a flick of a switch.
Or in my case, I am currently outputting the origen into darkvoice. so with the front switch I can go from Origen Dac to Darkvoice.
The Origen is very quiet and powerful, its driving my HD6XX & Hifiman HE-400 just fine. If its your first dac/amp, I don't think you need to go balanced yet.
