Hello!
Since I'm an old fart and my ears don't work as well as they used to, my game volume is usually somewhere around 80%-90%.. How well would this microphone handle the sound leakage from my open back headphones?

The Lab GeekThis isn't exactly an answer to your question, but if you need to turn up your volume that high, maybe you ought to get an Amp? They'll increase levels and improve the sound that's coming out.

ludwigtheholybladeI don't have an answer for Caleb either, but your comment seems silly. If he can hear whatever he wants at 80%-90%, that means he doesn't have to use 100% to hear it, so he doesn't need an amp because his set up is already able to produce the level of volume he needs. Sure an amp can do what you say, I agree, but making things louder wont help him with his initial question.

ludwigtheholybladeThank you for the response. I currently run my HD700s through a 0bjective 2 amplifier and then into my Mixamp should I need 7.1.
Unfortunately, I think my problem stems from from years of standing front row at various concerts without poper ear protection lol I do have plenty of power, I just have to use more of it than I would like :(

NonzillaI was thinking about the bad distortion that +50% volume levels can do to sound at peak levels, depending on the source. A dedicated amp can introduce clarity and better sound at lower levels.

The Lab GeekThough I bet the all those concerts made for good memories, still :)
Oh yeah, here's a Reddit thread discussing this very matter, though not 1:1 https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/3bqhcc/antlion_modmic_40_picking_up_headphone_sound/
It might pick up the sounds at very high levels, but it depends on the headphones themselves. Anecdotal evidence from the thread says it doesn't.

The Lab GeekI've been using the Minimic with my K7XX and haven't heard any complaints from my teammates - very anecdotal but I'll crank it up tonight and see if anything leaks through.
