a question, i bought the Standard Gain (2.5x Low, 6.5x High) version for the AKG K7XX and from a read on the internet i fond that people said that medium gain(1.0x) is the one to buy.
i have the SMSL SAP-II and the akg k7xx run on it loud enough on 6 or 7 on the smsl. on the O2 i need to go to 11\12 on the amp with the gain button off for the akg to run loud enough, is it ok? should i run it with the gain button on instead?

liorsa01If it’s gets loud enough for you then there is no need to use higher gain, higher gain = more noise and distortion, also you should select the gain configuration depending on your source‘s output voltage.

OpasTantii recently bought ODAC so maybe that what change, the O2 was connect Straight to the motherboard. i still didn't connect the O2 to the ODAC because i'm waiting for an RCA cable, maybe with the O2 connect to the ODAC the akg will be loud enough on 6\7 instead of loud enough on 11\12.
