CantrixDepends. What are you using now? Probably better than what your using to drive your X2 now. Also depending how good your ears are at hearing the difference. You will likely appreciate it in the long run.
At first when I got my DAC/AMP (JDS Labs C5D, wanted something portable) I really couldn't tell the difference between it and my phone, but after a week of so I could hear it. I preferred the the Audio of the C5D. Highs where better and smother and the lows where tighter and more enjoyable. Depending on your current source how big the difference is will very.
I would imagine a quality headphone like the X2 would shine even more with a good DAC/AMP powering them.
BTW what do you think of the X2? I recently got an M50x but think I'm going to send it back a get another pair of closed back headphone (AKG K553/Beyerdanamic DT-770) then save for an X2 down the road. They get a lot of high praise, have a fantastic build and look like good (like quality).

RojasTKDI've heard my X2 with an ODAC/O2, and they sounded amazing. X2 don't need much power, and they don't need any kind of sound coloration to sound their best, so a clean neutral DAC/amp like this one will be a good match. We discussed this combo at a meet in the context of listening to LCD-2, HD6x0 at the same time, and the agreement was that X2 deserve their price, particularly fed by ODAC/O2. BTW, I don't like the M50X. If you can return the M50X and can't buy X2, I'd suggest you get K7XX from the drop. To me, they're the most neutral sounding AKGs and definitely better than DT-770 to my ear.

RojasTKDI was using Creative Soundblaster Z but i removed it cause the driver was causing terrible latency lag "aim was horrible" so now i'm just using the builtin sound card on my motherboard Realtek® ALC1150..
As for x2 i like them ALOT more then m50. I gave away my m50 so i can't compare them now but i thought m50 were rly bland "boring" and x2 are vibrant a little warm side and comfy sound... rofl i'm sorry but i no sound expert and my English is not that good either :p
