Just for those who might find the information usefull, I paired the O2+ODAC with a rpi3 (connected via Wi-Fi to my home router) running the latest rune audio 0.3beta, streaming mp3, aac and FLAC to the ODAC from another rpi3-powered NAS (ethernet connection to my home router) , it just worked out of the box, built-in wifi on the rpi3 just works, this allows to manage playlists using a smartphone. Today I added the official rpi3 7" touch screen, rune audio boots in kiosk mode, does an *almost* gapless playback, which might be due to streaming from a NAS instead of locally attached USB storage, or problems with audio buffering in MPD (still enquiring on that one). Awesome and cheap. I tried literally all other MPD-based alternatives (raspbian, dietpi, Ubuntu mate, with ympd or MPDDroid, pi music box, moode, volumio, audio streaming to the ODAC kept on randomly dropping g with all raspbian based distros) just go with rune audio it simply works.
anterak13I'm really interested of making a streaming music box as well. Could you give me some tips?
The features I'm looking for is a streaming mp3 and FLAC device. Using smartphone via Wi-Fi to select the tunes would be great. I need like 256 Gb of flash storage, I'm afraid this is going to increase significantly. Just plug it to my Schiit via USB.
Thanks!
