Ok, newbie here.. Take it easy on me, tigers ;) I'm waiting on HD6xx to arrive. 1. Do you guys think I should jump on this now? I don't mind waiting 2. Would it be reasonable to say that black Friday can offer a better "deal" down the road? 3. How does this compare to fiio e17k?

VladGladI’ll be subtle here: jump on this O2/SDAC combo and don’t look back! (It’s just my humble suggestion... I have the HD6xx, I have the Massdrop O2 without Dac and I’m getting this O2/SDAC combo)

tessierpgWhy not just get the stand alone SDAC if you have the o2 already? Save some money for something else you have your eye on!!! ;)

BenGeldreichIn fact my first idea was exactly what you propose and I first ordered the SDAC and then I changed my mind, cancelled the order yesterday and ordered instead this O2/SDAC combo. It’s only 70$ more, everything is in one box, which I like, you may still use the SDAC without the amp or the amp without the SDAC in you need to do so with the RCA input/output sockets. I’m also keeping the standalone O2, which is used with my Onkyo network stereo receiver (with an AKM4452 DAC inside the receiver) in the living room, while I will be using the O2/SDAC combo with my Macbook Pro computer in the basement.

tessierpgSmart! I may end up getting a second headphone amp so I can hook it up to my Classé ssp-25 pre amp which has a DAC inside of it. That said, I’m not sure what DAC it has inside of it other than a 24 but DAC. Lol!

tessierpgWow, seems like it's a good deal then! Does this model only works with laptop/desktop or would I be able to use it as a portable unit with my phone? I liked the idea to have an amp/dac on the go, but so far I would only have HD6xx which are not very portable cans. How much worse fiio e17k to this model?
