Hi everybody, Im doing quite a bit of listening to this can since it arrived to me last 12/09, btw i ordered last 6/29/2017.Im gonna do a little review here to the people who haven't got it. Just a little bit of spoiler hehhehee3. Ok ill cut to the chase these headphone have a relaxed tonality in character i.e non fatiguing, not forward. But the mids are not compromised, its very present (that hunting sennheiser mids that i like so much). Lower freq or bass are a thing to die for in a can, i would say again not messing up w/ the middle freq, so no muddy sound. The highs are not a thing to die for, just in between 1-5 if i rate 5 as the highest. The comfort compared to my 598s are more clampy in nature, so maybe it needs more time to loosen up. Btw im doing my listening right now straight from my macbook since my schiit jot are still on its way. Also a lot of electronic genre are being used in my sessions, i also did some jazz and natking cole tracks. Hoping to recieve my jot since they said this thing would scale if connected to a better amplification. But at least for now i've shared my thoughts. Im ordering an athm40x to have a comparison since the athm40x are more neutral as being closed monitor headphone. So till here and ill update my thoughts whenever I'll be having my jot w/ vpi scout jr as the source. More power to massdrop. For 200 dollars i highly recommend this headphones.

Albers89I disagree about those m40x. They are TOTALLY not neutral! They have sharp highs and boomy bass (and keep in mind, I USED TO be a basshead. I KNOW big bass...)

Albers89Nope, meant the m40x. I've also heard the m50x, they're a slightly exaggerated version of the m40x. Still though, I couldn't stand the m40x's piercing highs and boomy bass

chuckolatteits more neutral than the senns, more upfront, just really can't relate to the boomy bass your talking about. Its closed type so maybe you mean its muddy? The beats in my opinion are more boomy or the bose quiet comfort. I find the ATH m40x being neutral IMO

Albers89I don't suppose Amazon sells fakes then? That's where I bought my pair. Yeah, I couldn't listen to them at all since the highs killed me, and the midbass was too boomy for me, which took away from the detail altogether. And BTW, I was testing out a pair of the HD598Cs at the time as well, and I found those to be a LOT more neutral than the m40x.
