RayFHaha, I wish I have enough budget to do it! I have HE400i right now, but I decided to sell it to my friend and get HD650 online at 200. It was not a bad deal.
What kind of amp are you using right now, if I may to ask?

meikaoWell, that's actually part of the problem--until a couple of days ago I didn't own a headphone amp--then the Oppo HA-2 SE showed up, but my 6XXs are still adrift somewhere in the Atlantic. That's left me my own devices, which means a pair of Bose QC35s, which for obvious reasons isn't the best solution. Yes, Boses' come with a cable, and yes you can use them in passive mode (noise canceling off), but they aren't really intended for this sort of pairing. That said, the Oppo HA-2 SE does light 'em up (in combination with my iPhone or MacBook) but only with better quality music files (found some nice demo clips on DSD File.com). Not sure about the efficiency of the QC35s, but I can say I had to use the high-gain and base boost switches on the Oppo to get them moving in the right direction. So, definitely hoping for a more religious experience when the 6XXs get here, and fully expecting to see GOD when I plug 'em into the Jotonheim. Till then I'm pretty damn happy with the Massdrop Series 3XX powered monitors hooked to my iMac. At this point, that's pretty much Church for me ;- )

RayFAh, I head Oppo HA-2 SE is a very nice DAC/AMP. I currently have a Dragonfly Black and an Audioengine D1 to run my HE400i, but I realized HD650's impedance required more power for its run. So I just joined O2 Amp's drop because $100 is the money I can spend for now. (Also, I don't want to spend too much money on dac/amp so I can spend more on headphones) I hope it works well.

meikaoNo, the 58x, 580, 565, 545, 535 etc. are in the 600 series, whereas the HD 598, 558 etc. are the 500 series. The 58x is a very musical headphone, and very fun.

dnalekawHave you listened to the 58X to confirm that? They haven't even started shipping yet.
