Can a dark voice amp use these to their full potential?

MaziIt's a decent pairing. Bottlehead Crack would be better, but their sale is already over. If you already have a DAC and wanna spent $200 in Amp it's not a bad choice. 6XX full potential is huge though. You would need to spent a lot more on DAC/Amp to top it.

hug.hI'm using the Grace m9xx dac/amp with them right now, but the volume on the m9xx has to be turned up all the way for any real effect. Was thinking both darkvoice amp and m9xx dac/amp together can power these up a bit more?

MaziI don't know much about the M9XX, but if it has line-level DAC out, yes, you can connect it to the Darkvoice. The Darkvoice can drive HD6XX better than M9XX, so don't worry about volume. But do not connect the amp to headphone out of the M9XX, it would be double-amp (the volume not only isn't higher, but there would be more distortion).

hug.hI totally agree about full potential. I thought I'd known my HD600/650/6XX pretty well, and felt I was getting an excellent performance from them, and then I picked up a Woo Audio WA3. I was honestly taken aback at how much the sound improved (especially the openness). Prior to the Woo I was using an Asgard 2, a Valhalla 2, and a Little Dot MK II and now those are boxed up or passed on. I'd love to find that next level beyond the Woo but I'd imagine it'd really stress the budget. I would like to build a Crack someday as well (probably with the Speedball).

OCBobHave tried it on a $3.5k Moon 430HA, not full potential. To get the full potential bass on the HD6XX - Audio-GD flagship, to get full potential mids on the HD6XX - ifi flagship, to get full potential highs on the HD6XX - Violectric flagship. I don't think an amplifier exists that can drive the HD6XX to their complete full potential.
