Probably the best headphones you can buy at $200
if you are looking for an enjoyable headphone. One that is pleasant and pleasing to listen to after a long day at work, just get a pair of these. I have had mine since the end of 2016. I was able to jump into the original drop of the HD6xx. I have bought several other headphones throughout this time and I always ended up with these. the 6xx lacks quantity in bass, but it does not lack quality. it has enough for genres like Jazz, not enough for other genres though. I am currently powering my 6xx through the Massdrop Liquid Carbon and it just such a beautiful pairing. There is zero fatigue. the liquid carbon adds a bit of umph on the bass too. these are great headphones for vocals. Male & female After almost 3 years of buying and selling headphones, these are still sitting on my desk, because I have not found a better value than these anywhere

A Top-Notch Experience From Beginning To End!
From the painless ordering process to making sure that the product arrived on time professionally packaged, along with an invoice to the actual product itself - the HD 6XX - Wow! I have been listening to music for over 40 years and have never heard my music like this before. Little nuances that were never heard before come out here. Not like hearing it for the first time, but like hearing a different mix of the same song. Very impressive Drop, please give yourselves a big hand for making these beautiful headphones even more available for all to enjoy!

What are "open back headphones"?
Open backs project sound both towards your ears and out the sides of the earpieces. This makes the sound feel as if they are coming from further away. Good for replicating the directions of where each vocals and instruments are coming from; like at a concert. Close backs sound as if the music is coming from the centre of your head; you get less "directional" experience but they feel more intimate. Open backs leak sound so if you are riding on public transport, the people sitting next to you might look at you sideways wonder why you are playing music for everyone around you. Most high end headphones are open back so don't worry about losing any sound quality from the leakage!
What is the best amp (or amp/dac) to pair with the HD6XX?
They go well with my Modi/Magni Schiit stack

Hey guys, want to give Alex a break as he has been powering through all of the questions since 5am this morning. You can check the current status here: <https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-sennheiser-hd6xx/talk/1566883>

-------- Quick update everyone,
As expected, this drop was amazingly popular. However, this increased demand on our servers in ways we didn’t anticipate which caused some difficulties processing orders this morning.
Our operations team will be manually removing any duplicate preauthorization or transaction charges you might see, and they should be reversed from your statement in the next 48 hours.
We will continue to post updates throughout the day in this discussion so that the community has a clear understanding of events and resolutions when we have them.
We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your continued support.
I hear your point but, respectfully, I believe you're in the minority. Most of the people I've seen commenting on here, YouTube and various audio forums where the HD 6XX are being discussed were customers who wouldn't have bought the HD 650 at all given it's price point. Some of these potential customers were unaware of the HD 650 at all and would've bought Beats or something similar instead of Sennheiser. Other posts I've seen are from audiophiles who liked the HD 650s but couldn't justify keeping a pair at the higher price point so sold them years ago and are looking to buy a pair of HD 6XX to try their sound again. This is expanding the market rather than a zero sum game of people who only wanted to buy a pair of HD 650s and then buy HD 6XX. Think of how many people who never would've tried HD 650s will be listening to HD 6XXs and raving about them to their friends who then also seek out Sennheiser headphones of their own - and buy models up and down Sennheiser's product lines.
While this may be the end pair of headphones for you, there will be many people who will go on to buy other audiophile equipment - including Sennheiser's higher end headphones. It's easy to get sucked into this hobby once you hear what is possible. Even you, 5+ years from now, may find yourself seeking the Sennheiser sound signature that you've grown accustomed to after listening to the HD 6XX and I doubt that you would buy one of their lower end models as it would seem a like a downgrade.

This update is for members who joined the HD 6XX drop from November - January.
Updated 3/9 I’m happy to announce the third (and final) batch of HD 6XX has arrived at the warehouse! The headphones are going through quality control checks and will soon be prepared for shipment. We’ve emailed those of you who are in this final batch, and we expect your headphones to start shipping next week. Thank you all for your patience throughout this fulfillment process. We’re glad to be shipping these headphones ahead of schedule, and we hope you enjoy the HD 6XX!
Updated 3/6 The second batch of headphones has arrived at the warehouse and is now being prepared for shipment! This batch is about 3,900 headphones and we’ve sent an email to those who are in this second fulfillment. As of this morning over 1,800 headphones have shipped, and the third (and final) batch is expected to arrive at our warehouse by the end of next week. I’ll provide an update next week with the current fulfillment status.
Updated 3/2: Hi Everyone, We have an update on the shipping status of the Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX Headphones. Sennheiser will be shipping the headphones to our warehouse in batches. Once each batch arrives it will go through quality control checks, and will then be prepared for shipment. We will be shipping out the batches based on when members joined the drop. We’re excited to announce that the first batch of headphones has arrived and is now being prepared for shipment! This batch is roughly 2,000 headphones and we’ve sent an email to those who are in this initial fulfillment. The next batch is already on the way and is expected to arrive at our warehouse by the end of next week. I’ll provide an update next week with the current fulfillment status. We are on track to have all units ship by our estimated ship date of March 28.

Update (June 28, 5:50 pm)
More good news: We’ve been working with Sennheiser today to increase the drop limit and drop length to give more community members a chance to participate.
We’re increasing the drop limit to 11,500 units. Additionally, we’re going to be extending the drop to end on June 30 at 9 p.m. PT. With all these updates, I want to clarify that there will be no change in the ship time for the drop. Enjoy!
------------------------ Hey all, I have a big announcement to make, and let me say congratulations to the community right off the bat, because this wouldn't be possible without you. I feel like you know what’s coming next! :) We’re adding another drop point at 5,000 orders, at which point the drop will revert to match the pricing of the first drop back in November. This means that the drop will be $199.99 with free shipping to the US and $15 shipping per unit internationally. We’ll be sending an email update to members who have already joined the drop. All existing drop participants will be charged the new price of $199.99 and not $249.99. I know I’ve said in prior posts that there won’t be a price change, so I owe everyone the story of what we’ve been working on behind the scenes. From the start of the drop, the team here and I have been collecting the feedback from the community, seen through both the comments in the discussion and, more importantly, the performance of the drop. Not all feedback is vocal and the choice to participate (or not) in any drop provides crucial information both to us and to collaborators like Sennheiser. At the end of the first day, we collected all the performance metrics and community comments from the drop and sent them to Sennheiser. Since then, we’ve been on multiple calls with our partners at Sennheiser, who have been very gracious and are blown away by the passion of the community. To show their appreciation for the support, they’ve chosen to forgo their margin requirements on this product and will offer it at the original launch pricing once the drop reaches 5,000 units. Additionally, they’ve taken the feedback about limits per person into account and have agreed to increase it. Each member can now purchase up to three (3) HD 6XXs. This has been a true community effort! With all the celebrations for Massdrop’s 5-year anniversary taking place (and having been part of this community for such a long time), I can’t emphasize how much you all mean to us. A big thank you for making this happen and we’re all hoping for some fireworks.
* For convenience, I’ve copied the key details from our first post below.

If you purchased the HD 6XX between June 25 and June 30 please read below:
Updated 11/27: The fulfillment for this drop is complete.
Updated 11/20: Hi Everyone - I have a quick update on the HD 6XX shipment. As of today over 10,400 headphones have shipped from the June 25-30 drop (this is about 93% of the drop). The remaining orders should leave our warehouse by the end of next week.
Once these units ship, we will begin to prep the next drop for shipment (members who joined drop from 7/10-7/31). This drop will also ship out in groups, and the first batch is on it’s way to our warehouse from Sennheiser.
We’re excited to continue to ship these headphones out ahead of the estimated ship date, and I will continue to provide an update each week with the overall shipping status. Thank you all for your patience!!
Updated 11/13: Hi All - Quick update on the HD 6XX shipment. Over 8,700 headphones have shipped and we are expecting another shipment to arrive later today from Sennheiser. We’ll continue to fulfill the remainder of this order as we receive the units, and we’ll update everyone on or by 11/20 with the latest info. Updated 11/6: Hi Everyone,
We have a quick update on the shipping status of the HD 6XX. The latest batch arrived at the end of last week, and as of this morning over 7,000 headphones have shipped.
We are expecting the next batch from Sennheiser to arrive early next week. Once the shipment arrives it will go through a quality control check and start shipping shortly after.
There have been a handful of questions around how we determine shipping order. I wanted to assure everyone that we do our best to ship in order of when you joined the drop. We send thousand of orders to the warehouse floor at a time, and while there may be a slight shuffling of order due to the way orders are packed and labeled, all orders in the same batch will ship within a few days of one another.
Thanks to everyone for their patience. I’ll provide an update next week with the latest information.
Updated 10/30: Hi Everyone, Just wanted to provide a quick update on the shipping status of the HD 6XX headphones. As of today over 1,500 headphones have shipped, and tracking numbers will continue to be sent out throughout the week. We are also expecting the next batch to arrive early next week and start shipping shortly thereafter. We’ll continue to send out the headphones as we receive them from Sennheiser. I’ll check back in next week with the latest status of the shipment. Thank you all for your patience. Updated 10/20: Hi Everyone, We have some pretty exciting news! The first batch of the Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX Headphones has arrived at the warehouse in New Jersey. They are going through a quality control check and we expect them to start shipping out in the middle of next week. The headphones will be shipping out in batches, and we anticipate that all orders will be shipped before our estimated ship date of December 18. If you need to change your delivery address please contact community support through your transactions page (https://www.massdrop.com/transactions) as soon as possible to ensure you receive your pair. We’re looking forward to you all receiving these headphones ahead of schedule!

Also, regarding the sound signature, I preferred them over HD600, HD700 and HD800s. They are just different animals and taste is a major factor.
....but you didn't, right frank?
Sooo sorry I brought back old memories. Wasn't my intent. Still buds??

Hey everyone,
First things first: Wow. You guys killed it.
We spent weeks prepping for this and had planned for thousands of people showing up, but the level of enthusiasm for this one went far beyond what we expected.
At 6 a.m. PT when this drop launched, thousands of you tried to join all at once. This unprecedented level of traffic overwhelmed our transaction server and reduced our processing rate to a trickle, with many of your attempts (and repeat attempts) getting only partially processed, or dropped completely. Some of you ended up staring at the spinning checkout button the whole time, while others simply got an Oops page.
With the how and why out of the way, we wanted to first thank you for the overwhelming support and excitement over this drop. Without all your passion working with Sennhesier would never have been possible.
But we also want to apologize for the issues yesterday morning and to those who were unable to join this time. As someone who was there at 5:30 a.m. PT and didn’t get through, it’s a frustration I understand entirely.
Now, there are a lot of outstanding questions and we want to address them.
Existing orders Some users clicked the refresh/join button more than a couple times and ended up inadvertently joining the drop multiple times. In this case, the first order has been retained, but the additional transactions have been cancelled/refunded. Some users had their Paypal transactions confirmed without getting a transaction confirmation ID from us. If you don’t see anything under your Transactions tab then you should see the payment hold drop off. Otherwise you should see a Sennheiser order in the My Transactions tab.
Many people see multiple $1 charges on their credit card. These are just preauthorization charges and are there to confirm your credit card validity. They do not necessarily mean you are part of the drop, it simply means we checked to make sure your credit card was valid and they should be disappearing in the next 48 hours.
To summarize: at this point, all ambiguous transactions should now be sorted out. You can confirm if you are included in the drop by checking your “My Transactions” tab and seeing an HD 6XX order.
But didn’t you say some people had duplicate orders? As you read above, there were a number of duplicated transactions that have been cancelled. This means there are a handful of headphones that are currently unspoken for. However, way more than a handful of people encountered issues with checking out.
In order to objectively allocate these units our engineers have gone through the website logs to determine the order that users hit the “Join” button beginning at the 6 a.m. PT launch time. Starting today, we are going to email those users and give them a chance to join the drop. Based on their response, we will continue to work our way down the list (in chronological order) until all of the headphones have been allocated.
Did I get in?! Be sure to keep an eye on your email within the next 24 hours for the next steps. Verify you used an email you have access to and make sure you don’t have emails from Massdrop going to junk mail. If you don’t get an email in the next few days, then I apologize for all the suspense and hopefully we can bring this back soon.
Next steps for Massdrop We are implementing fixes now to help our servers function more smoothly in the future, and we've learned a lot about how exceptionally large traffic drops function in terms of flow and discussion. Communication specifically was an issue with this as things were getting buried immediately, and keeping people up to date as it was happening was almost impossible. A lot of good suggestions here in the discussion were brought up as well as internally for a lot of various teams that we will be looking into and working on implementing. Thank you all for the feedback.

And of course we are working to bring this back as soon as possible. We will keep everyone updated as we hear more and will be sure to email everyone here if anything is happening.
Thanks everyone, Alex
UPDATE: Email has been sent out.

Sorry to say you're not getting a pair, that opportunity passed a month ago. Massdrop seems to be almost entirely ignoring support requests for this drop as they've probably gotten tens of thousands of them and they just straight up don't have the human resources to deal with them. It's unfortunate but they're a small company and there is nothing they can do about it.

Depends when your order went in. I managed to get my order with the counter at 748, which was 20-25 after the drop opened up.  The pair I received was 3368, so it safe to say if you didn't make it in the within first hour, or even first 30 min most likely you aren't getting a pair that drop.
Update (July 26, 11:18pm): We are extending the drop till the end of the month as we have received several community requests about it. The drop will end on July 31st at 10pm PT. There will not be any change in ship time and everyone will be charged when the drop ends on July 31st.
---------------------------
Hey all,
First, a big thanks to the community for the amazing response toward the Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX.
To continue the chain of good news on this drop, we have been able to secure 10,000 additional serialized units as part of the second run. Furthermore, we are working to get another 3,500 units confirmed.
Drop Details Pricing is the same: $199.99 with free shipping to the US and $15 shipping per unit internationally. The drop will begin on Monday, July 10 at 6 a.m. PT and will continue until July 30 or until the available units sell out. A total of 10,000 units will be available, and as this is a continuation of the second run order that started in June, the drop counter will start at 11,500 and run to 21,500.
Shipping The additional 10,000 units will have the same expected ship date (December 18) as the rest of the second run.
A couple of people have asked if it is possible to speed up the production, given the obvious demand. I have copied Will’s response below to a similar question. As a summary, the bottleneck is a result of the lead time in sourcing components from part suppliers by Sennheiser further up the supply chain. That said, Sennheiser and our Logistics team here are continuing to work to deliver the HD 6XX as soon as possible.
Will’s post: “Ha, thanks for your post. I wish it was as simple as getting 500 more people at their facility in Ireland, but the time comes from further up the supply chain. The assembly step only takes a couple weeks, it's the parts suppliers that cause the long lead times (remember how replacement cables took six months?)
For reference, the first run took as long to make, we just offered them to the community later in the process. This wait is the same as that wait, but now you know you're waiting vs blissful ignorance. It's six of one, half a dozen of the other in objective terms, but that's not how it feels as a consumer.” (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-sennheiser-hd6xx/talk/1735458)
Final Words All this wouldn’t be possible without the community’s response to the second run of the HD 6XX and we thank you all for it. Sennheiser revisited their production schedule as a result of the impact of your participation in the previous drop. This is a big achievement and the Massdrop community should be proud of it. As we mentioned earlier, we are working on securing another 3,500 units and will get back to everyone with an update as soon as we have confirmation.
List of countries that the drop will ship to: Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Belarus, Canada, Switzerland, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Spain, Finland, Faroe Islands, France, United Kingdom, Greece, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Mauritius, New Caledonia, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Peru, French Polynesia, Poland, Portugal, Reunion, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Ukraine, United States, Uruguay, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Cyprus, Israel, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.

It was very easy to get mine shipped. The vat was not that big given how much cheaper you can get them vs the official 650 so definetely worth it. And regarding paperwork you just fill in email form and pay the VAT on delivery
All,
We have some long-awaited news and are excited to announce it as we celebrate our 5-year anniversary. The Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX heaphones will be available again on Monday, June 26th, 2017 at 6AM PT for $249.99 with free domestic and international shipping.
We will have 7,500 serialized units available for this drop and we understand that there will be questions regarding how we plan on handling the unprecedented demand that was seen last time. We are providing a detailed plan for this drop below.
First Access for Attempted Joiners of the Original Launch During the original launch, there were members who reached the checkout page but were unable to complete their transaction. These people would have secured a unit in the first run and we will be sending an email to these individuals titled “Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX: First Access” inviting them to have the first opportunity to join the drop. Starting Sunday June 25th at 12:00 PM (noon) PT, the members who are part of the first access will see an active drop that they’d be able to join.
All other members will continue to see an inactive drop until Monday, June 26th, 2017 at 6AM PT at which point the drop will become available to all members. Drop Details Each member will be limited to one unit of the HD 6XX. The drop will launch on Monday, June 26th at 6AM PT and will end on Wednesday, June 28th, at 11:59 pm PT. All units sold are expected to be delivered domestically by December 25th. We’ll have an estimated shipping date listed on the drop when we launch.
There has been a change to the countries we’re able to ship to between this drop and the last one. Please see the complete list of countries below (shipping will be free).
Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Belarus, Canada, Switzerland, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Spain, Finland, Faroe Islands, France, United Kingdom, Greece, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Mauritius, New Caledonia, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Peru, French Polynesia, Poland, Portugal, Reunion, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Ukraine, United States, Uruguay, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Cyprus, Israel, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey
Serialization All units of the HD 6XX that are produced are uniquely serialized. The first 5,000 were sold in the original launch and the serialization will continue for this drop.
Pricing Change While our goal was to bring the HD 6XX back at its original price, $250 was the most accessible price that Sennheiser made possible for us to provide.
Behind the Scenes There has been a lot of work behind the scenes to make this drop happen. Since the first launch this has been the most requested and talked about drop on the site, and Will has been working with Sennheiser to bring it back for the community. Big kudos to both the team here and Sennheiser for making this drop possible.
Simultaneously, our Engineering team has made many improvements to our transaction processing so that we can fully support the kind of surge in traffic and purchases that occurred during the first launch. We’ve tested these improvements with other launches and they went smoothly.
Given the demand of the HD 6XX, we still expect Monday’s launch to generate unprecedented traffic. While we expect the site to handle this, we’ll still have all hands on deck available to respond to any questions or challenges the community may have.
Of course, the ones putting in the most "behind the scenes" work have been you: the members of the Massdrop community. We’ve seen requests pile up on this drop and have been asked about it through emails and several discussion posts. A big thanks to the entire community for the support and for making this possible.
Edits 1. Edit made to the original post to include free domestic AND international shipping on this drop. 1. Edit made to the original post to include MORE countries where the drop will be shipping.

they are shipping the 2th drop in december so not for a while i guess :p
Hey Everyone,
Thank you all for making the HD6XX a huge success! It’s been great to see comments and reviews of the headphones start to come in as people receive them.
The remainder of outstanding 6XX orders are on track to ship ahead of the mid-december estimated ship date. For the latest status on shipments for the 6xx, check the thread below:
https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-sennheiser-hd6xx/talk/1894058
With that understood, we have another exciting update for anyone who missed out on the previous round. We’re pleased to announce the 6XX will be dropping again tomorrow morning. These units are from a different production batch, so they’ll have a later ship date. The good news is, after working closely with Sennheiser over the last few months, we were able to secure a 3 month delivery timeline instead of the 6 months we’ve had to wait historically.
Tomorrow morning at 6am PT, we will relaunch the 6XX drop with 10,000 units available and an estimated ship date of March 28, 2018.
This will not impact the shipping time for previous orders.
Thank you all for being a part of this drop. We’re excited to be able to have even more members get their hands on a HD6XX.
UPDATE 11/30: The 3.5k units from the drop in November are being processed. 6.5k will still be available in this batch through the end of December. Both are expected to ship around the same time, but members from the November drop will be first in line if we have to ship in multiple batches.

Hey everyone, Just wanted to chime in about the shipping delays. This is a major issue that's affecting us and- quite obviously the entire industry. Our primary warehouse is in New Jersey, which is a hotspot for COVID19 and there are various state laws/restrictions/curfews that are impacting our ability to ship packages out. Our warehouse staff are working as hard as they safely can to get packages moving and we're allocating resources to be as efficient as possible (this means we're not always following First in, First out, order processing, etc). We've recently gotten swamped with even more HD6XX orders than usual (apparently because Amazon's ship date on HD650 is May 6th, so people are coming to us instead), so that's further exacerbating our backlog. Suffice to say, we're moving as quickly as we can given the circumstances and appreciate your patience. Emailing customer support will not affect when your order gets sent out (they don't control dispatch dates). The length/size of the backlogs vary because we sometimes will assign all staff on a specific date to just ship a handful of products (i.e. just HD6XX, and HD58x on Wednesday) because it's faster/more efficient then sending 10 orders of 100 different products. What that means is that we can't give firm updates on how long/bad the backlog will be for any given product. We are prioritizing HD6XX since it's our #1 best seller, so this situation should be less extreme sooner rather than later. We're doing our best under extremely difficult circumstances and appreciate your patience. April 15th update: As of this moment, all orders received prior to April 14th have shipped. We're fully caught up on shipping the HD6XX (for now). A) we'll likely get behind again in the coming days as we focus on 'catching up' on other products, B) We're low on stock on the HD6XX, so if you're on the fence I suggest you place your order sooner rather than later.

April 24th update: Current shipping delays are about 5 business days.

April 27th update: We're currently caught up with orders that were placed on/prior to April 20th. i.e. we're 5 business days, 7 calendar days behind. That should continue to be the pace for most of this week.

April 28th update: We're caught up to orders prior to April 22nd(Corrected).

May 1st Update: We're caught up to orders placed prior to April 27th. I.e. we're still running at roughly 5 business days behind.

May 5th Update: Everything placed prior to April 28th has shipped, about half of the orders from the 28th have shipped, and some of the orders from the 29th are done. Tomorrow we should finish all 28/29th orders, and hopefully some of the 30th orders too. We're still firmly in the ~5 business day lag range.

May 8th Update: Everything bought prior to May 4th has shipped (and almost all of the May 4th orders as well). We're almost out of inventory in our warehouse but a shipment from Sennheiser is expected early/mid next week. Once that shipment is gone it'll be 4-6 weeks before the next shipment arrives.

May 15th Update: The Sennheiser shipment that was supposed to arrive hasn't come in yet, we're following up with them to get an update on when we can expect it. Those units were earmarked to be shipped out this week to existing orders, so that's the cause for the shipping delay. We expect to get an update later today.

May 15th Update #2: No response from Senn yet, probably won't hear until next week. Rest assured, as soon as they get the shipment to us, we'll get the pending orders shipped out (this exact same thing happened with the PC37x last week).

May 18th Update: Sennheiser told us that our HD6XX shipment will be dispatched on Tuesday, which means it'll arrive at our warehouse on Wednesday or Thursday. As soon as it arrives we'll be unpacking and shipping it. Thanks for your patience on this. We've got about ~300 units left of this shipment to sell, otherwise you'll likely have to wait until mid/end June for the next shipment.

May 19th Update: Our shipment is delayed a day, won't ship to us until tomorrow, meaning Thursday/Friday to us at the earliest. Will update again with more info when I get it.

May 21st Update: Note these are no-longer in stock. There is a [Pre-Order] button, and an estimated ship date of June 30th. Those who ordered on/prior to May 20th, your order will ship shortly (as soon as our order from Sennheiser arrives, which should be in the coming days.

May 21st Update #2: The trucking company has made an appointment to deliver the HD6XX units on Friday May 22nd at 9AM. Assuming no complications, it'll get unloaded, received, and we'll immediately start shipping these back out to everyone who ordered (on/prior to May 20th). We're looking into running a weekend shift on Saturday/Sunday to also help get "caught up" and get these shipped out sooner. Will provide more updates as I get more info on the timing and cadence of this delivery, thanks for hanging in there! For new orders, the June 30th ship date is likely going happen a couple weeks sooner than that, but we're leaving it at June 30th since there's a very vocal minority who wants us to be conservative with our ship date and "underpromise and overdeliver". I'll provide some discussion updates here as that shipment evolves (I think they're still being made, then need to be moved from Europe to NA.)

May 22nd Update: Shipment arrived this morning and everything went smoothly. Over 500 units have already shipped out, and they're getting through more of them. There is an optional shift on the weekend, but productivity will depend on how many people show up to work.. on memorial day weekend.... (I'm not too optimistic).

May 22nd Update #2: 800+ units have shipped as of 3pm EST. PS, they don't ship on a strict-FIFO basis, that's basically impossible (or at least terrible inefficient) when you have 10 people packaging and shipping out the same thing. Everyone gets stacks of orders, boxes get packed, things get scanned into the system in different order, boxes get loaded onto the truck in a different order etc etc. Everything will be shipped by Tuesday at the latest (Monday is a holiday), hopefully sooner.

May 22nd Update #3: Looks like just over 1000 units shipped today, and a little under 300 remain. We've asked to make this a priority over the weekend (read the notes above). Unclear how many will get done/shipped on the weekend (hopefully all of them), anything left will be shipped on Tuesday. Have a great weekend and stay safe.

May 25th: Kinda funny, kinda not... precisely 10 orders were shipped out over the weekend.. So I'm guessing one person showed up for about 30 minutes and then went home (or out to join the Memorial day festivities). Anyways, this is highest priority on Tuesday and the remaining ~300 orders should ship out.

May 26th: ~50 orders left to ship. Rest should be done in the next hours or so. Still trying to get an update from Senn about the next shipment and whether we can get it made/shipped to us sooner than the end of June. The most likely scenario is that they split the order into two shipments and air-freight us the first half early.

May 26th Update #2: Everything has shipped out! Thanks for your patience, I'm going to shut this thread down and start a new one in a day or two since the size of it (over 100 comments long) is getting a little unruly. To everyone who just got (or will soon get) their pair of headphones, please leave a review/photo and get your drop reward points!! Happy listening.

KevinAny word on if that half shipment from Sennheiser is happening? Thanks for keeping us updated! Also, you guys should add a down thumb to go along with the up thumb; I'd love to down thumb the entitled attitude of so many in this thread.

Hey everyone, As a few members have mentioned, we’ve increased the price of the Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX Headphones by $20. To clarify some of the comments, this is not a temporary increase. I want to take this time to help address some concerns you may have. Our founder and CEO, Steve El-Hage, recently posted about the subject of new pricing on some products: "I wanted to let you know that we will be increasing the price on a limited amount of Massdrop Made audio and blades products. These increases will generally range from $10-$20 and will go into effect over the next few weeks. We may also revisit prices on a limited amount of additional products in the coming months.

Why the increase? A couple of reasons. When we started, we underpriced some items with the immediate goal of getting them into your hands and out into the community. We knew the price didn’t accurately reflect their market value, but wanted to reward our early adopters for taking a chance with us. Additionally, over the years, costs have gone up around things like manufacturing, shipping, etc." Feel free to read the full talk post here for more context on the matter. We certainly don’t take these decisions lightly, and we care very much about delivering the best quality products at the best value, and we’ll always strive to continue to do that. The 6XX remains an incredible headphone at an incredible price. Also, to clarify, this pricing is unrelated to the Launch pricing we announced a few weeks ago as this is an existing product. Launch pricing is only for brand new products being introduced. We saw some comments as well on the timer (showing how many days/hours left on a drop). We still use a timer on our in-stock drops. To provide the fastest delivery experience we can, we close the drop out everyday and manifest those orders. We’re revisiting the clock as part of overall site improvements as we put more focus on this area of the business so as to reduce confusion. Apologies for any confusion or inconveniences here. Thank you as always for your comments and feedback.

LoL Just because you like to bend and spread for a dry corporate ramming doesn't mean we all do. ;-)

SaskAudioGuyWhoa there, little lady! Make up your mind. You wanted them soooo bad for so long, but the big "corporate" meanies raised the price $20 and you whined and whined because that was too much for daddy's little princess. Now they're 190 and you get the IEM and still you stomp your feet. Sounds like only thing that going to make you happy is a dry corporate ramming, you naughty, little tart. The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
