Long wait times for Cavalli amps are common. His is a small business. He needs to know the number of units to be produced before ordering parts and organizing production.
A long wait, while not preferred, I can handle. What was more frustrating is when I placed an order, endured a long wait, and then learned that not enough orders had been received to start a new production run of the amp.

KG_JagThis amp was developed by Alex Cavalli, but Massdrop will be responsible for actual production.

JaggiOK--but does this mean that Cavalli is not involved in the production or perhaps that the contract between Massdrop and Cavalli places the legal and PR responsibility of production on Massdrop? Given the long history of Alex insisting upon heads on involvement with amps bearing his name, I suspect it is the latter.

KG_JagI don't think Alex Cavalli will be directly involved with production but the full details of the arrangement with Massdrop haven't exactly been made available publicly. He does give some hints as to how the collaboration will work in this post:
https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-alex-cavalli-cth-tube-hybrid-amp/talk/1781095
In particular: "All of the parts in the amp are specified by me and there are no subs without my approval and collab with CEE TEE and the team. This applies to the production pieces. The component quality in this amp is equal to the quality in the Liquid Carbon."

gearofwar113I'm not sure what point you are trying to make, and I don't really appreciate the name calling. The point I was making, is that it doesn't matter how small of a company Cavalli is, Massdrop is arranging the manufacturing to happen in China. The original poster was concerned about long manufacturing lead times, which is true, but it's not because of anything having to do with Cavalli being a small company, as it might be for a product that they are making themselves.

gearofwar113Audio-GD (from whom I have purchased a headphone amp) is a Chinese company run in China by Chinese nationals.
Name calling (at whomever it was aimed) is unnecessary and detracts from any substantive point you are trying to make.
