Does the inner tent attach to the fly at the bottom? Or is it free floating?

Ronhagen184Yes. The inner connects to the two peaks (via buckles) and to the four bottom corners of the fly (via clips).
Normally the inner just stays clipped inside the fly, so once you've pitched the fly the inner is already in place too. But you can easily unclip it if desired.
