Mine arrived yesterday. It is very close to my personal deffinition of a perfect EDC. Very close. @JonasHeineman , you seem like a knife guy, so you understand that the perfect EDC is like searching for a unicorn. I‘ve yet to find one in Reeve, ZT, or Spyderco (though some almost get there). The Crux is so incredibly close! Make the next run perfect by giving it a good clip and internal milling to bring the weight under 4 oz. Bump the price by $30 if needed for the changes—leave everything else the same. This blade really works for me. Folks that missed this drop missed something special.
I have one of Pop’s clips on the way. Massdrop, that’s something you should be addressing. Hopefully I’ll have some cash available for the next (improved) run of these. Don’t do the run too soon, ’cuz I’m broke right now. (-;

jmunderI heard about issues with the clip, but I am not experiencing any so far. What is the problem? I have carried mine every day since I got it, which isn't long. But almost a week, and I see no problem.

namhodMostly, the clip is too stiff. Ideally a clip should let you get it on/off the poclet one handed with ease, yet still offer good retention.
A higher ramp and greater ckearance for thicher pants (like jeans) would be ideal...but flexibility is the big issue.

jmunderOnly just now into my second week of carrying it. No issues. I wear Riggs work pants to work, they have a pleather patch on the pocket. So the pocket is super thick and I have no problem getting the knife out one handed, even wearing bulky gloves.

jmunderDid you just order the clip for the falcon, I guess they are the same clip?
Can you post some pics and let us know how well it works etc when you get it?

fuckshitstackYes, I ordered a Pop’s clip—the Falcon one. It’ll be a while before it comes. I’ll post back with impressions and a pic..
You can try chaladin bladeworks too. I didn’t realize they had a deep carry clip at the time of my order—it’s really attractive (I mistakenly thought they were only offering milled clips).

A few notes: 1. I’ve been very outspoken about my disdain for the OE clip since the falcon. That said, the OE clip functions better on the Crux. While it’s still not great by any means, I think the larger size of the crux helps it wedge into the pocket better compared to the Falcon—at least in jeans. I’m looking forward to the new and improved MD clip. Thank you again for listening, Massdrop. 2. Pop’s Falcon clip works perfectly on the Crux. If you juggle the OE clip & backspacer screws inthe correct way, you can mount Pop’s clip with the OE screws. Pop includes black hex screws & hex wrench for a direct fit, should you choose to use them. 3. The rear-most clip screw on my falcon had a crap-ton of threadlocker! To get the screw out I had to completely disassemble the knife, remove the backspacer, heat the crap out of it, and grab the barrel nut with pliars. Threading back into the barrel spacers was really tricky, so be careful. 4. In addition to being a better clip all around, Pop’s clip really improves the knife’s ergonomics. The OE clip is a horrible hot spot. 5. Pop’s clip required tension adjustment. No biggie. Just attach the clip to the knife backwards and give it a little push. 6. I wish MD/FFKW would abandon the milled clip (is it cast? MIM perhaps?) and go with a plain old bent steel clip. Short of CRK, a good spring steel clip is nearly impossible to beat.
