Another Falcon has landed. My initial impressions so far are very positive. The shape and overall design is comfortable in the hand. Detent is fairly stout, but not overly aggressive, allowing a snappy opening with little effort. The shape and detent does not allow me to open with the hole, but that was expected. Not sure I've met an easy thumb openening flipper that wasn't at least a bit too lazy of a flipper. This little guy flips with authority to a solid lockup.
Sharp out of the box is never a bad thing. However that is a feature that seems to be less frequent lately with my new knife purchases. So it's nice to not have to put a stone to a brand new edge. 👍 I'm not particularly fond of the velvety texture of the titanium finish. Guessing it's just a product of a fairly heavy bead blast. Not a bad thing in any way, just feels weird to my skin for some reason. But I'm sure that will wear in nicely with a little use. Another plus is that it's very easy to close one handed. The lock is offset in elevation from the opposite scale just barely enough to aid the thumb position to unlock.
My only real concern is with the clip. It tapers to a point leaving it extremely thin, and the most flexible of any of my other milled Ti clips. I can now see what others have said and shown concerning bent clips. I'm hoping for the best, but afraid the only clips from this batch that will not ultimately get bent at some point, will be those shelf knickknacks that never actually get used. Hope to be pleasantly surprised, as mine will have many trips in and out of jeans pocket on a daily basis.
And now for the obligatory pics with a stack of comparables.
