I'm road tripping around Iceland right now, staying in hostels and guest houses. Danny gave me a couple samples to try out.. and they are awesome. I can wear these all day driving for hours, hiking, and walking around a lot. I can hand wash these in the sink and leave them to dry at 3:30am, and they are dry by 8am. They're great for hiking! I started out today with a pair of darn tough socks.. generally a great pair of socks but this pair didn't have enough elastic so kept sliding down. I switched into these socks and alll was well again. I could last my whole trip with 2 pairs of these socks.. maybe even 1 if I had to. I joined the drop for two 3-packs :) I usually wear a 7.5-8 in Womens and the medium fits perfectly.

jeaninesJeanines, could provide a little more detail on by "generally a great pair of socks but this pair didn't have enough elastic so kept sliding down". Did the elastic wear down over time or something? Would greatly appreciate. Currently 50/50.

ViraI wish I knew exactly which pair of socks I was wearing so I could give you a more technical response because I know DT makes a lot of different kinds of socks. I think the pair I was wearing was thicker and if I had to guess, I'd say it had more wool in the blend. Normally when I wear these with normal shoes, even running, it's never been a problem. I think because I bought a pair of larger, insulated boots for snow, there is a little more room for them to wiggle around so the heel would end up under the arch of my foot. The fitsoks are thinner/more flexible, they compress on the arch of my foot, and this band at the top of the sock is a bit tighter so they don't slip down. As much as I love these socks (and I do, because I get to see all the samples that come through Massdrop and I am buying a couple of 3-packs of these), I wouldn't judge all DT socks off this account.. they make a lot of different kinds of socks. Hope this helps!

ViraAlso.. please take "elastic" with a grain of salt. I am probably using the wrong word to describe how stretchy it is, when that's likely not the actual material used in the sock :)

jeaninesJeanines, thank you very much! Just the needed info to clarify what I had to mind.
I'm in :)
Edit: @DannyMilks I hope you/MD can sort something out in near future for low ankle variants, personally prefer low ankle socks, on or below, even in the dead smack of winter. Would be fab to see that happen :)
