Hey Everybody!

HIFIMAN was already shaking things up by offering high-value, great-sounding digital audio players, planar magnetic headphones, and IEMs that led on innovation and performance. The Massdrop x HIFIMAN Bolt in-ear monitors continue with this mission. Fun sound & great build at a surprising price. If you are coming from phone earbuds, the seal on these will block out external noise and keep the bass in.
Compared to RE-00: While the RE-00 are a very balanced listen, the Bolt dials up the bass and treble.
The Bolt has a supple flat cable with no fabric, along with a microphone.
Massdrop & HIFIMAN continue our partnership and shared goal of spreading audiohphile sound and experience to a greater audience.
Please enjoy these and feel free to share with friends and family. ;)
Agreed, 100%. The quality of these is no where NEAR as was described. They don’t hold up to most music. Especially if they’re turned up to a volume worth listening to.
Hi Everybody,
We made a mistake that will make this deal even better.
The shipping charge for US & International members will be reduced by around $1. When this drop ends, you'll be charged even less for shipping than what you saw this morning.
By later this afternoon, the correct shipping charge will show on new orders. If you joined the drop earlier today, your transactions page may still show the original shipping amount. But don't worry, this will be updated after the drop has ended and the corrected amount has been charged.
Summary:If you purchased on launch day morning, you'll be charged less than what your transactions page currently shows for the shipping charge. If you purchase after the change happens the afternoon of launch day, you should see the correct shipping charge on your transaction page.
We will see if they do send the packages separately.
Based on the tracking number they are sending in just 1 package.
I was expecting 3 separate tracking numbers but only received 1.
But we will see if that is really the case.
If you're going to charge the same amount per item for shipping, no matter how many you order, then your calling these $9.99 IEMs is deceptive. Why not call them $13.74 IEMs with free shipping? I mean, come on, it doesn't cost $37.50 to ship 10 of these. Whether or not $13.74 is a good deal for these is besides the point, it's deceptive pricing.
swechslerNormally, I defend Massdrop regarding their shipping issues. Yes, everyone wants to get their items in "2 days", but I can understand the pre-order process. I have to add my voice to the shipping objection. Heck, even Amazon (among others) will adjust shipping to get the lowest shipping price for a multiple item purchase. I fail to understand Massdrop's decision here. Massdrop?
Hi Everyone,
We were able to speed up our second planned shipment and secure 3,850 more units without any delay of the first 2,950! (There is now a total of 6,800 units available.)
We’re almost out of the first 3,000 unit shipment, but we now have an additional 3,800 as of 10am PDT on July 19, 2018. Enjoy!
Yeah it is, because they were very clear that there was a limited quantity and that the drop would end when the quantity ran out, and you had *three weeks* to place your order.
Oh, you're too kind. Don't worry about it. I think in a way this might have worked out fine anyway, because a blue box for MEE IEMs just went up. I'll probably go with those instead. Thanks though!
Saud787I also wanted to buy several pairs, but just bought one. I guess I'll check in tomorrow and see if the shipping prices have become more reasonable for multiple pairs and place a new order then.
Hifiman has had issues with drivers, actually. A simple google search will yield multiple sources discussing dead drivers, and build quality issues resulting in dead drivers. In fact, they're perfectly open in pricing driver replacements, so saying bad drivers don't come from Hifiman seems disingenuous.
I don't want to be having this conversation about Hifiman vs Audeze here. I won't say you should appreciate Audeze more, but please respect that in the headphone community, Hifiman QC and production quality has had its reputation roughed up from prior issues. But just as I don't share your optimism, I don't share Frosty's enthusiasm to paint all Hifiman experiences with a broad brush. We should be celebrating Hifiman trying to provide an iem for 10$. As per usual, their VALUE EQUATION is otherworldly. Having happily owned the RE600s v2 for some time, I'm excited. But buyers should be aware of all related concerns as potential customers.
SqueeNo I’m not saying that Hifiman never has bad drivers, obviously with any product you occasionally get a bad one. What I’m saying is Audeze doesn’t seem capable on many of their headphones of properly matching drivers and if you measure them the two sides are very different. This is not something rare it is extremely common on Audeze headphones.
Why is shipping so expensive to Australia? $9.25 for one pair is fine, but I'd like to purchase 2, and it doubles the shipping to $18.50. Surely we can put two sets of earphones in the same box people..
Got mine today. And for 10 bucks.... It sounds like 10 bucks.
The cable feels cheap and probably will harden up and crack soon enough.
The bass end is messy. And the treble end sounds tinny.
Somehow Skull candies of ages past sounds a bit better than this. Both in the bass sounds messy but at least it doesn't sound tinny in the treble.
There are tests done for a person's "feelings" and raw numbers. However stuff done for numbers could fall into the range of error.
Also a thing to note, There is nothing to disprove if the thing to disprove doesn't exist. So the burden of proof lies upon your hands showing that burnins does something that others trying to prove burnins does nothing.
IcywolfeLike I said - I'm open to being convinced that "burn in" is a false concept. I honestly just wanna know the truth, but I wanna know it's been thoroughly tested in a sterile setting by someone impartial to be sure the results aren't skewed.
Post some links to tests and stuff if you've got them.
On the other hand thPugh, a lot of people get some sort of satisfaction or security in believing in the concept of burn-in. For that sake it's useless to try to convince them otherwise - not only because they won't change their biewpoint but also because it makes them feel better about the quality of their purchases... regardless of whether it's a psychological placebo or something measurable
