Just got mine today. Nice so far. I am lucky and have no problems. Except I want to drive them the best I can with my lgv30 but I don't know how to enter high impedance mode with them.

Stardown7They are not high impedance. You don't need the additional gain for them. What they are it's current hogs. Planar drivers are terribly inefficient. Phones are not built to deliver the current these things need.

Stardown7This works with my V20.
If you plug a short 3.5mm extension into the phone to trigger line out mode then plug the 4XX into the extension it will provide a little more power and drive them a bit better.
Also, if you have plug high impedance headphone into the the extension first them plug the extension into the phone it will trigger high impedance mode. Then you can remove the unplug the high impedance headphone and plug the 4XX into the extension (just make sure into to unplug extension from the phone while doing this). This way it will deliver maximum output and better drive the 4XX.
An even better alternative is to buy a 75 ohms impedance adapter plug that into the extension and plug you headphones into that. Then plug it into you phone to trigger High impedance mode. Then remove the 75 ohms adapter and plug your headphones into the adapter. This way you don have to have a 50 ohms headphone with you, just s small adapter. This is what I do with my V20.
Some people just recommended using the 75 ohms adapter with the headphone and V20, and this did trigger high impedance mode BUT you also added 75 ohms of resistance and you had to crank the volume up compensate. My way you trigger high impedance mode them remove the extra impedance and you more power at a lower volume setting and more headroom. This still wont drive them as well as a good desktop rig, but it will be better, and should give you and good listening volume.

RojasTKDNice or you could root it install a few things and turn on and off " high impedance" when you want. Viper4Android XHiFi helps too.

PingsTrue, and I though of that... But rooting the V20 seemed like a bigger hassle than I wanted to undertake. It's not as straight forward as when I was into rooting my Android devices. So this does the trick for me.
Maybe once I get another phone, I'll consider giving it a shot. Maybe....

RojasTKDWhich Carrier and version do you have? The H918 was super easy.
