kiddI have some monster ears too and I haven't had any issues with comfort. My ears don't even touch the interior edgers of the headphones (which is a miracle with dumbo ears like mine)
OxygenCongratulations, you had me go and actually measure them top to lobe. It's a tiny bigger than 3 inches. XD Thanks for the suggestion, someone might find it useful.
kiddI think I’d find a pair to try on before buying. The Sennheiser 6XX are probably a safer bet. I’m sure they’ll be dropped again. The Sennheiser are outstanding headphones. i use with an amp though. The closer you get to really good studio grade... the more you hear the difference with an amp.
If you’re sourcing from a headphone jack, you don’t need a DAC... which I’ve seen a few people recommend. Any headphone jack, whether on your smartphone or computer, is already analog. You only need a DAC if you’re using a digital source.
the amp keeps you from overdriving your smartphone or sound card amp. You get distortion when you overdrive. Might get loud enough, but for the best quality sound use an amp with good headphones.
