Finally :) Congratulations! Any rough numbers, estimate how often switches can be swapped without making the mechanism get loose/worn out? That's something i would try to measure to keep people happy and is somehow crucial for me.

MakamiThe sockets that we use are rated at 100 cycles. As a point of reference, the Holtite sockets that are commonly used for modding an existing PCB to support hotswap are apparently rated at half of that (50 cycles) as per the datasheet.

Makamiswapping a switch in one socket 100 times would not provide a representative sample. I trust that Kaihua has done proper testing and provides a correct rating for cycles.

MakamiI don't feel like this will happen. I've yet to see people even complain too much with the super cheap magicforce hot swappable keyboards. I feel like people simply won't swap switches that often, there would be no reason to. Of course stating the rating is always good though just so people know.

MakamiWorst case, the hot-swap inserts are easy to swap out with a soldering iron. The PCB was designed to be repairable from one side.

livingspeedbumpAgreed, i've asked the same question at the first Magicforce drop without getting an answer. Might be my german blood that a question like that comes up for me.

MakamiEvery good project needs some German blood and attention to detail ;)
