So I currently use Cherry brown switches and love them, and it looks like Kaihua Copper is the closest to it. However, I'm thinking of considering Halo clear and true as well and I'm not sure which to choose. Any help?

JelsKaihua brown is closest to Cherry MX Brown.
Personally I might wait on the True/Clear because they will be guaranteed to be available at a later drop, and I want to guarantee getting myself the other variants with the light tube underneath since its not known if those will be sold later.
Also I'm not 100% sure how the new switches will go down, judging by the graphs it looks like they might be a bit mushy and inconsistent with the feeling of having actuated the switch and the travel distance actuating it being much further away and not a steady drop in weight after having actuated the switch

JelsBeing in the same position, I went for Copper, as they have the lightest actuation force. Now the True is advertised as having a "lighter" actuation point... but compared to what ? Looking at IC's comparative guide, Halo True's actuation force is ~52, whereas Kaihua Copper is ~30. The idea of having a heavy-cushion bottoming and "lighter" actuation is intriguing, but I, for one, am sticking with lightness...

CamboAlso grabbing the copper, just based on the fact that the Halo True/Clear are "guaranteed" to drop at a later point. I dont think ill grab the Halo Clear, but a switch that emulates Topre? I'll try that smooth Halo True when it comes later.
BrttThe only place I saw reference to a lighter actuation was OverKill's comment comparing True's actuation being lighter than the Halo Clear, however I believe he was actually referring to the Tactile Peak Force because both the instantaneous actuation and total actuation force are greater on the Halo Clear.
CamboData is great and all, but keep in mind the units on them. I found myself over emphasizing this same thing. The difference between the tactile peak and actuation on a Cherry MX brown is ~1mm, on the Halo True it is ~1.5mm. I'm willing to bet the fatty tissue on your finger compresses more than 1/2mm. I think the odds of you being able to perceive that is unlikely.
That being said, I think its a pretty good plan to try to pick up Halo's later, but I wouldn't expect to see them until next year sometime after the dust settles from this drop.

goldsyThey should offer one switch of each (Clear and True) to people that chose neither. That might create some *real * interest, rather than having to rely on other people's feel.
@IC: What do you say ? :p

CamboMm yea you and @Brtt made really good points, what with not being sure about the new switches, guaranteeing yourself switches with light tubes that you're comfy with and the thought process of looking at the data. Looks like I'll be going with Copper as well, thanks mates :)
