This is my first time ordering through massdrop, so I don't know how the procedures work. Based on the email, I'm not really expecting any updates until then(6/30). Also, I think I read somewhere expect shipment date was July 1st, so it probably won't even be shipped out until then.

Tony828I am only mentioning this for your next drop, not to base your expectations on the timing of this drop.
This drop isn't how Massdrop normally works, so notifications may be slightly out of order, and time from drop end to you receiving your chair is going to be pretty fast.
Normally, after a drop ends, Massdrop orders the full quantity of items from the supplier, and the supplier ships those items to Massdrop in a bulk shipment. Then Massdrop will breakup the shipment into individual lots and ship those individual orders to the folks who participated in the drop. This is Massdrop's business model I think, save the suppliers dealing with hundreds or thousands of individual orders(and the potential returns, etc.) and hence get the item in bulk cheaper per unit, and hopefully ship items cost effectively so that Massdrop can make a little margin as well.
This drop is different because the supplier DXRacer is drop shipping straight to us without shipping to Massdrop first. This is probably because each chair is 70 lb, and it is relatively low volume, so it is worth it for DXRacer to sell through Massdrop as a reseller to get exposure to a new audience(and we get a discount, yay!), but it probably isn't worth it for anyone involved to ship 70lb chairs twice.
So, what that means to those participating in drops like this is that the delay involved with shipping twice, etc. is eliminated.
You can see the effect in action by looking at previous DXRacer drops... the time from when a drop ended until end-users received their chairs is significantly faster than a normal drop, where I saw it being less than a week, vs typically two weeks.
