My trusty Shure SE215 special edition blue IEMs have gone missing, and I've been using my Klipsch S4i. For another $20 over the price of these, I could replace the Shures (with foam tips my favorite mobile IEM), I can settle for the Klipsch and save $100, or I could get these. Aside from the subjectivity, I've found IEMs are barely possible to compare with other user's experience because of the physical factors of the human ear (there is no known IEM or earbud that will stay in my wife's ears, barring epoxy or duct tape), but can anyone offer a comparison of the NuForce with either the Klipsch or Shure?

Kerry_MaxwellI have the shure se 215, long time user. I prefer the se215 to my all other dynamic iems (ie80, eph100, re400, m6pro, piston3) The deep and punchy bass with excellent vocal performance makes them a very special iem. I am still burning-in the edc3, it's quite different from the se215, if you are looking for a direct upgrade, it will be not the case. The edc3 has a more clear sound, with no grain, also better instruments separation and black background. It's a more technical iem, a bit on the analitical side compared to the se215. The bass can feel a bit anemic (with a bad seal it's almost non-existent) because of the balanced armature. Detail retrival and trasparency are better on the edc3. Soundstage is the same. The se215 has a more "analog sound" with deep and punchy bass response that is very musical and fun to listen. Vocals are beautiful. A bit grainy and not very clear sounding. Anyway for the price the edc3 are very nice to try, in my opinion.
