Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Now I have heard a $400,000 system with just two speakers and amps for the speakers and it was absolutely incredible. Nothing has ever compared to that quality. So yes there are speakers out there that can make use of insanely high end amps. But general home stuff and bookshelf speakers are not really among them.
If you really want to know the differences though, Id say the Schiit setup is *technically* something like 10x better specifications than this Sprout 2 unit. For instance, the Vidar is rated for 0.01% distortion at 100w power draw and the Sprout 2 is rated for 0.01% distortion by the time it gets to only 1w power draw. You also dont having things like switching supplies and radio interference in the Schiit setup like you do with this.
