As an avid Benchmade owner of well over 50 of their knives, I just couldn't see the value in getting a knife that was a essentially a knife extremely close in function and style to an already produced knife at close to the same price. For a few bucks more or less I personally would just stick with what I know and buy another Benchmade. I'm not knocking the knife from Millit at all, but it just didn't show me that much if any innovation at all to justify buying one for the price listed. One note I might add to the conversation as to people complaining about any faults they find with one that they receive is that they have to remember it is a "production" knife and not a custom hand made knife. With that said, you have to understand that you may not get a knife that is perfect in every regard and might suffer some discrepancies that another one may not. In "production" items, not every piece is hand inspected to meet exacting aesthetic or functional properties and as such may suffer from some differing and less than perfect anomalies. There are very few folding knives from any manufacturer I've ever bought that in some way didn't benefit from a little tweaking on my part to make it perfect to me with regard to centering, blade drop, or smoothness of action and I'm sure the same could be said for Millit's model. I wondered when I saw the knife if TJ Schwarz, the knife's designer quite possibly approached Benchmade to produce the knife and was either rejected by them to do so or just didn't get the contract terms he was after. In any regards, I hope all that ordered one are happy with theirs but I just decided for various reasons to pass on this one. Good luck!

TheDeskofBobLoblawThis question is pretty late, but I was back on the Perpetua discussion thread since it had been re-released, and I genuinely curious. Last year--on my birthday, actually--you wrote: "There are very few folding knives from any manufacturer I've ever bought that in some way didn't benefit from a little tweaking on my part to make it perfect to me with regard to centering, blade drop, or smoothness of action." A few questions, since I have many (mostly high quality production) knives from many (mostly reputable, well-known) brands, but not a single Benchmade--they've just never struck my fancy for the prices. Whereas you say you have >50, and more now, I'd imagine. So question #1: do you enjoy working on knives? That is, do you look for opportunities/excuses to break them down and adjust something. Or maybe everything, even if just a little? Question #2: are you (as I am, incidentally) a "knife perfectionist", so to speak? Meaning you are someone who feels that no matter whether a knife is a cheap clone, or name-brand premium piece, it ought to have a proper walkabout, i.e., centered blade, smooth deployment, solid lock-up, etc.? And if a knife ultimately doesn't have that, it won't be for lack of you trying to get it there? Question #3: do you own or have you ever owned any Zero Tolerance knives? Question #4: if so, did you feel your ZT(s) required some adjustments? It so, what needed to be done to them? And finally, #5: I infer you own some custom knives--do you recall how many, and by whom they were made?
HatuletohGreetings; Sorry for the late reply but I don't frequent Drop very often. In response to you comment to me from last I wrote on here It seems we may be sharing the same fanaticism with our man toys, yes. I break down my firearms, knives, and get into the inner-workings of many of my hobby items, my guns and folding knives especially. Quite awhile back I bought about 6 or 7 Ganzo folders that I since parted ways with, but while I owned them, took them apart, polished and adjusted each one of them to the point of exerting more time and effort into them than they were worth. I did eventually get more for them than I paid from a fellow who was in to cheap Chinese blades and said that they were the smoothest and nicest feeling Ganzos he'd ever seen. So I guess my effort wasn't completely in vain. They went to someone who really enjoyed them. I don't have any ZTs. I'm not a fan of them, nor of any Kershaws, their KAI little brothers. I did buy at ZT 0350 years ago, de-assisted it right away and made a decent user out of it, but always felt like I was carrying a brick so sold it soon afterwards. I have a few Spydercos, but they're all some of their older models (Delica 3s, Enduras, an M4 Gayle Bradley, a Goddard, a couple Dragon Flies and Ladybugs , a Hossam Forester, a sabre grind Native, a Slysz Bowie, an original Spin, and an mint in the box Byrd Wings). Not many of the newer Spyderco models do much for me though. I had and sold 2 Paras and a Sage, although I still carry my little Spyderco Chaparral and a Centofante 3 now and then. I just love that Centofante for some reason although it was never one of their better sellers. I have a lot of slip joints in many brands too. Too many to mention. The Lionsteel, GEC, Boker, Queen, Fantoni, and real old Case and Hen and Rooster models I have are my favs though. My "customs" are all fixed blades and fixed blades I must confess to having too many of as well, but there are only about 6 or 8 of them I ever really hard use. Oh and BTW... my Benchmade collection has grown exponentially. Yeah, I have the addiction! Too many knives and I'm late in life. I have a real hard time selling and parting with many of the ones I love. I'm not a rich man but right now don't really need the cash they'd bring so I'd much rather keep them. They'll be a part of the legacy to my children I guess.
