Would these make a solid choice for gaming? I was looking into these or the DT 700 Pro drop and wondering of these 2 headsets would work well with my FX Audio DX- 6 dac/amp. Currently using the ATH 700x but always up for trying new things.

Nemesis_FTWI'm not sure but another headset to consider is the Senn. HD-598. Sorry for not answering questions but figured more choices are better.
Nemesis_FTWYou’re currently on the drop page for the HD 58X Jubilee. For gaming, it will have a linear sound, breathe out most of the heat that can build up, and have good weight and comfort for long-term listening sessions... however, the PC37X are more optimized for gaming, with a built-in microphone, on-headset volume dial to save your hearing if you need to quickly turn down the volume, and a more “fun“ signature with extra bass to help with immersion, while also reducing heat build-up with it’s open design and being lightweight and well-padded for long gaming sessions.
Either will serve you well, but for gaming we would say the PC37X is better optimized: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-sennheiser-pc37x-gaming-headset

SennheiserI've always felt that wide, accurate soundstage is more important in gaming than boosted bass and that's why I've really liked my HD 595. Accurate positioning gives immersion and advantage.
Tup3xWith the PC37X, you get both a wide soundstage and a solid bass foundation! This headset isn’t a bass cannon, but we refined our “touch” on bass output because users reported previous generation headphones were under representing what was happening in-game. The PC37X still features the angled drivers and tight detailed control of the old HD 595 model, but with a more full, solid sound. Positional imaging and soundstage should feel the same.
The HD 58X Jubilee has less resonance than the HD 595 and PC37X, and has a more reference-tuned sound. The HD 58X Jubilee also has good imaging characteristics, but does not have angled drivers and a more moderate soundstage size.

SennheiserSpeaking of angled drivers... It would be great if there would be more higher end options than HD 700. I actually had one briefly but the sound signature wasn't that pleasing (coming from HD 595) that I returned it. If there would be something with similar to HD 6x0 typeish sound but with angled drivers it would be incredibly hard to resits - something like hybrid between HD 59x and HD 6x0 series (basically HD 59x to next level). I did join to HD 58X Jubilee drop and I'm really interested in hearing how they sound but the potential soundstage width loss is obviously not ideal (it feels really natural on HD 595).

SennheiserLooks like I will stick with my 10 year old HD 595 then. I just don't need the microphone on the PC37X. Since I have a XLR microphone already.
