Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

As the name suggests, This drop is to commemorate the Legendary HD580 headphones. So the sound of HD58x should resmebles the HD580 which had the same tonal balance as the HD600. But the leaked FR curve of HD58x is more like the HD650 than the HD600. If HD650 was the target, they should named it 65x, not 58x. Isn't it? After they changed the bass respones, The name and concept of this headphones become deceptional.
If you want the tonal balance of HD650, We already have HD6xx! There's no reason to make another heaphones with overlapping, team-killing positions.
The HD580 was not an inferior headphons than HD650. They are equally great headphones with own unique, unreplaceable characteristics. But now, it seemes that 58x is desparately imitating hd6xx's responese to become a degraded copy of 6xx.
It is nowhere near to commemorating the legend. It is a shame. It is a pathetic humiliation.
There are many people who already have the HD650 or HD6xx before they joined this drop. Will they be happy to have an inferior version of HD650? Well, I'm not the one. If I wanted the HD650, I'll buy an HD650, Not the 58x.
Oh, It is your first Sennheiser and you want 58x to be warmer, bassier headphones? Well... GO JOIN HD6xx! WHY NOT?
There are already great, already bassier, already cheap affodable choice in front of your face! Don't you have extra $30 to join the HD6xx?
I can't understand why the people are whining at HD58x and try to ruin the whole drop.
As you said, they told us 58x will get better bass extension. Okay, I can accept that depend on how much. But more bass than HD650??? Is this what we really expected? Could we expect this kind of bass extention from the name "58x"?, at the first time we joined this drop?
And the homage, Huh. WHY DID'NT THEY HOMAGE THE HD 650 for this headphones? WHY THE HD 580? Do you really think it natural that the heaphones named after HD580 has more simillarity with HD650 than HD580? I don't think so. It is just a nonsense.
It remains to be seen how it actually sounds. Graphs don't tell the whole story.
There are also things about the HD6XX which the HD58X was promised to do differently... namely more forward presentation of the highs with a little more energy/bite, which is my main (minor) gripe with the HD6XX. That alone is enough to separate the HD58X from the HD6XX, and why I joined the drop over the HD6XX, besides a $50 less buy in. The improved bass at a proper level makes it even better as long as the highs are still improved in presentation over the HD6XX. The HD58X will not have quite the resolution and scalability the HD6XX is capable of from the reviews of the prototype, which is another distinction between them.
The HD58X is for those who want a more exciting/less laid back HD6XX and don't care it doesn't have quite the resolution or scalability of the HD6XX.
As we have already concluded: Neutral signature headphones do not appeal to the masses.
I can't help but laugh at all the clowns spraying their 'expert' interpretations of the FR graphs...
Soon we will know what these damn things actually sound like!
