Just got this Sennheiser PC37X. Fresh out of the box. Feels very comfortable. The audio is fantastic but I am having trouble getting the microphone to work. I got a USB audio adapter external stereo sound card. I tried everything from re-plugging the USB, re-plugging the audio and mic jacks into that said USB, and restarting my laptop (macbook pro, 2014). Nothing is working. The problem is that even though I set the volume and mic volume to the max, the sound out of my mic comes out extremely muted and quiet and practically inaudible (in the recorded playback and through skype call). I was excited since people were saying how great the quality of the mic was but now I am just very disappointed... If anyone knows how to fix this problem please let me know. If I can't fix this then I would like to return and receive full refund for faulty product.

vintrovenasHave you tried unplugging the actual cable (on the left ear) from the headphones? That worked for me, mine wasn't working either when I got it.

tanggamingThank you for your reply. I just tried and re-plugged the left ear cable and the volume of mic did not change too much. It is still barely audible. I'm talking at a normal volume, if not louder than usual, into the mic, which is placed right where my mouth is; yet it is still too quiet! I think the headphone and the mic should work right outside the box, or is that just me?

vintrovenasHave you tried adjusting your system settings via the control panel (if you're using windows)?

tanggamingI am using macOS and yes I went into the settings and made sure the input & output were selected as the headphone + mic. It still isn't working. I requested for a refund. Thank you tanggaming for trying to help me out. I really appreciate it.

vintrovenasI have an older MacBook pro and max are weird sometimes, but I believe you need to get a USB with a mic and audio input, a lot of microphones that aren't self powered don't work with Mac, but a simple input device via USB works great.
