Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

1) I have a large head (size 7 3/4 in baseball caps) and these are a little snug. They end up hurting after long hours gaming. I sometimes game for 4-5 hours at a time (if not more). They hurt the top of my ears and I look forward to bathroom/drink breaks to give my ears some relief. 2) This is probably obvious given the make of the headset, but if I were to buy another pair, I would want closed back headphones. Yes, open back have a larger sound stage but in noisy environments, this headphones are hard to hear (even on the loudest setting). I am lucky enough that my current set-up has three tvs for gaming (one friend on each tv) and two tvs for sports (especially important during the start of the mlb season with nba/nhl playoffs on... but I digress). It is hard for me to hear my game with so much going on. Again, this is probably obvious to some of you, but for others like me who were new to this process, this is important. 3) Probably most important. If I were to go through the process of buying headphones again, I would invest in a very nice pair of non-gaming headphones. I would then buy a mod-mic or connect an external mic to my system. I cannot stress this enough. I read hundreds of reviews that recommended doing this but being lazy/never having done this before, I did not take buying a separate mic/headphones serious. GO THIS ROUTE!!!!!
