The refund reflected on my card statement 2 days after I cancelled. I think it would normally post the next day but I cancelled on a Saturday. I’ll give that to massdrop, they process cancellations quickly.

I don't know if there has been an update with how these blogs are set up with threads within threads. This is just a reminder that I / we are still waiting for an update. If there has been one and I haven't found it I apologize for bugging you, Thanks
Hi everyone, We have an update on the Spyderco Delica Super Gold Steel Knives. In our last update, we stated the knives were on their way to our warehouse. Unfortunately, we misspoke and the knives were heading to the Spyderco warehouse. The knives are currently going through final quality control checks at Spyderco and we’re working with them to get these to our warehouse and shipped to you as soon as possible. We deeply apologize for the miscommunication. We’re expecting an update from Spyderco in the next few days and will be providing more information as soon as it’s available. Thanks so much for your patience.

JaleesaG@Benzo @VipeX @Mallett @GrayKing @Jmwinter @TRraven I've contacted support about the lack of updates from @JaleesaG , and would recommend others do the same. These discussion threads seem to be a black hole and don't seem to be monitored. Perhaps if they get enough trouble tickets management will take notice and make an effort to provide timely communication as they at least have to be acknowledged and responded to.

Hey everyone,
This one has been a long time coming and I’m really excited that we can finally share this with the community. Spyderco is one of the most revered brands in the knife community, and the Delica and Endura (both made in Seki, Japan) are their two most popular models.
Discussions of a Delica and/or Endura started on the Spyderco Forum a few years back, but it was decided that the cost would be prohibitive. While this version costs more than a standard version with VG-10, the size and unique nature of the Massdrop community have let us negotiate a price that is a good value, relative to the comparative prices of the steels used.
Spyderco has plenty of special editions (called “sprint runs”) over the years, but they’ve never made a knife featuring Super Gold steel until now. This steel is popular with top custom knife makers like Ken Onion because of its excellent grain structure and hardness, both of which are rare for a stainless steel. Also called SG2 or SGS2, this steel is normally found only in handmade pocket knives or high-end Japanese kitchen knives.
Normally, Spyderco knives that feature upgraded steels are paired with different colors of FRN; like ZDP-189 with British Racing Green, or HAP40 with Burnt Orange. We did want these knives to have some visible indication of the super-premium steel being used, but we also know that black is the overwhelmingly popular favorite handle color. When Spyderco showed us their new matte gold finish at Blade Show 2017, we knew that we had found a winner. The prototype that we saw had this color finish applied to the whole blade, which just seemed...a little too gold. We agreed that applying the finish to the lockbar only would be the subtle and unique way of indicating the special nature of this blade.
Thanks for checking out the drop, and for being part of an awesome community that is making this possible!
* The price of this Limited Edition Delica will be $119.99, with free shipping to US addresses. * This is a limited edition of just 1000 pieces (max). Due to the time and intricacies of production, we’re limited the first drop to 600 pieces - if the drop sells out, we’ll order more that will be made available on future drops after production is underway or complete. * Knives will not be individually serialized. * This drop will begin at 6:00 am PT on Tuesday, April 3rd 2018. Click the “Request” button to be notified when the drop is live and open for members to join. * Our Estimated Ship Date for this drop is October 31st, 2018.

JonasHeineman@AveryC with marketing said there would be an update with this drop but I can't find one. Can you or someone please give us some info. Did Spyderco get the SG2 steel? Have they started manufacturing? Is another delay in the future? Thanks for your time.

Well I got mine in the mail! Only took a year and a week :D I'm quite satisfied with the purchase, I knew it was going to be a wait from the start regardless, though not quite this long. Fitment seems to be perfect, the FRN handle is grippier than I expected, and the gold lockbar is a very aesthetically pleasing touch. The knife of course some hair shaving sharp and does exactly what it's built for.

JaleesaGMine arrived today. The Delica SG is a stunning knife and I am glad to have received it. The question is whether it was worth all stress?

I really don't see what all the whining is about. This is a special production run. When you order something one-off or semi custom, it can take awhile. Who cares, as long as the quality control is there.

Of course I realize they've had the money. The delica was $120. I don't invest in bitcoin but FWIW bitcoin is down ~50% since this drop last year, so it sounds like you are much better off having had them hold your money for you. Seriously, I can't imagine a situation where my personal investment decisions would be in any way impacted by having prepaid 100 bucks for something and having it delayed, and if they were I wouldn't have bought the item to begin with. Interest rates are low, the time value of your prepaid $120 is about $2-3, hardly worth complaining about.

WaltdockeryI think people are upset not because they are 1/3 year passed their ship date (which should have taken into account factors such as what we're experiencing), but because of how poorly they're communicating with their paying customers.

ok so at this point this is annoying. Two weeks ago they were "en route" to the wearhouse. They are already what 5 months behind? Im done buying from Massdrop until I get this knife. I really want the Ferrum Forge Protec collab but I didnt get it specifically because of this. You guys have had my money for almost a year!!

Like he said, we aren't worried about not getting our knives. We will get them or MD will fully reimburse us if they dropped the container in the ocean :P. What we are pissed about is how this particular drop was managed. Delays on top of delays + poor communication about the delays. No follow up like they promised etc... Not knowing and waiting is worst than knowing and waiting.

What I HATE the most is the lack of communication. This is getting to be the norm in all their knives collaborations. I’m so annoyed!
I don't quite get what is going on, the drop has passed 500 buyers yet it did not conclude??? Is it supposed to continue till 1000 units max, and the 500 avalible "now" just means that there will be two productions one of will be 500 and the other depends on the amount bought?
Sorry for any confusion here - Up to 1000 total Endura, and up to 1000 total Delica. The balance of what is not sold now will be made available in future drops.

Jonas, please consider a much smaller maximum order. Basically you are letting people gouge on ebay at that max level. 2-3 is more than enough for any one person. After all, you have nearly 3000 people interested in 500 pieces that are going to be released.

Here is the message I just sent to Massdrop support:  I cannot begin to explain how deeply I am disappointed with Massdrop on this drop. I have not ordered any other items from Massdrop in months because of this. Why would anybody want to be part of a new build drop that has such a little chance of even being near the original ship date. Next, the communication is the worst I’ve ever seen from any organization except scammers such as a kickstarter that doesn’t plan to ever deliver. I’m starting to think that something has gone horribly wrong with this drop and you can’t/haven’t figured out how to tell us yet. Will someone please let me know what is going on?
