sitaUltimately it's not me you have to convince (it's Yanbo).
However, please bear in mind that a NORDE kit would have an MOQ of 50, and historically Norde users have had difficulty getting their kit to that threshold even when there is also an ISO kit available. I think a NORDE kit without ISO support would have a very hard time reaching MOQ, which is why it wasn't seriously considered.
sitaOh, I agree entirely that it is conceptually sound. I just don't think the kit would come close to hitting MOQ.
But like I said, you need to convince MassDrop (i.e., Yanbo), not me, and I think it will take a couple hundred like-minded Norde users to do so (since usually only a fraction of those who express interest actually end up committing their money to the cause).
JohnRCooper@YanboWu See above. Maybe roll a limited NORDE-kit into the base kit (like not doing all the variants of symbols, just the letters)? It is a European typewriter you are emulating, after all.
sitaI think you'd be hard-pressed to arrive at a consensus among potential Norde buyers as to what subset of the 30+ NORDE keycaps to go with. Even so, it would be infeasible to add half a dozen or so keycaps to the base kit without raising the price of the whole package, and MassDrop can't change the price now that there are over 160 orders already placed.
