This may look appealing but not sure why this isn't in something say...WATERPROOF?!?! I mean yeah this is great if you want your camera to be warm...because well that is the one thing people are worried about outdoors with rain, mud, and dust. Seriously this maybe the dumbest product I have seen on massdrop ever.

serifOmg, thank you for that! Now to see if I can get my German grandmother to knit something like that for my camera!

This looks very appealing.
I'm springing for one, to replace a very good firm shelled Case Logic camera case. The Case Logic is great for my Fuji XT-1, but I can only use a limited selection of lenses with it, as it's too small for bigger lenses. I like the way this one expands to fit a range of lenses.
The down is probably no more effective than synthetic fill, but does give a premium quality feel to the product. I like it.
Can anyone speak to the durability of the outer fabric? Most down baffled items have fairly lightweight shells. I'm concerned that the fabric may not be durable enough for my needs.
Finally, I wish the rain fly were a subtler color. The main color is just fine, but once you put the rain fly on, the bright sky blue color really draws attention to itself.

I received mine about a week ago and just used it yesterday. I like it a lot!
It's for light to medium duty, more suited to jaunting around town rather than for tough conditions. But it does offer protection against bumps and scuffs.
It looks very cool and well made. Like a little quilt on your camera.
I don't know how long it will last. The fabric is like the thin fabric you might find on a down jacket. But it should hold up with some care and not too rough use. But if you scrape it against a rough stone or brick wall, it may well tear.
It's more like a cool hipster fashion accessory that happens to be a camera case. Protective enough if you are not to rough or abusive with your camera.

So I'm disappointed, but that's my fault. The sizing guide indicates that a 5D with a 24-105 lens fits, and I read that as '28-70'. And it is possible to shove the camera in and get a single twist of the roll-down clasp. But it is stretched tight and the sides bulge open, making it kinda pointless.
So, too small for my favorite lens. Fine for smaller ones. Otherwise, it almost makes me want a puffy quilted jacket and puffy quilted snow pants and a puffy quilted cap, because that would be ridiculous.

The group's bulk order arrived earlier to our warehouse in New Jersey and many of the individual packages have already shipped back out. However, upon taking inventory of everything received, our team was made aware of a backorder affecting a small handful of units. Rest assured, we've reached back out to the vendor to resolve this hiccup and expect to have the remaining units in our warehouse shortly.
Expect another update from us on 11/9 or sooner if something comes up.
