Hey massdrop you guys need to fix this it isn't an Integral knife it's an integral design. A true integral has a solid handle, one full piece not 3 no matter how it's made. The rike 1508s is a true integral.
EDIT: After looking at more pictures and options the knife isn't even a tanto like it says, tanto is blade not spine so thats a reverse tanto blade.
Spidey12341So probably a dumb question, but what features make this worth the cost versus other knives? 300 seems a little steep to me but that is probably just me.
exuzmwaIn no way do I want to endorse this particular listing. I just want to answer the question as to why the *claimed* attributes add up to an expensive knife. First, Bohler M390 is one of the latest "super" steels; good corrosion resistance, excellent sharpness, great edge retention. Second, an "integral" handle is a one-piece frame carved from solid titanium; this means no screws holding the handle together, no need for handle maintenance, super easy to clean and maintain.
The downside here is obviously that is not an integral handle. If they're "fibbing" on that count, how good do you feel about that being actual M390? How capable are they at heat treating and hardening this new steel?
exuzmwaSo I got a rike 1508 in green and paid $370 dollars for it and that knife is a true integral and has m390 steel. I got it from massdrop a while.back and it is by far the best knife I own and I have 3 m390 knives. The quality on the knife is amazing.
