Made in Japan’s cutlery capital, Seki City, the Mcusta MC-7 “Take” is small, sophisticated, and made from premium materials. It features a 2.75-inch blade made from 33 layers of nickel Damascus with a core of VG-10 steel—a high-carbon-content steel manufactured in Japan. A liner lock holds the blade in place when open. The handle, made from African ebony wood, looks like it was cut out of the trunk of a bamboo shoot. It features dimpling throughout, creating a shimmering look when held at different angles. Slip the folder in the included Nishijin pouch on the go.
Note: This drop is for the African ebony wood model. Due to the sensitive nature of shipping knives internationally, we are able to ship only some of the knives on Massdrop to select countries. It is the responsibility of the buyer to know and comply with all importation regulations and local laws. Click here for additional information.
Since the mid-thirteenth century, Seki City has been the cutlery hub of Japan. Thanks to its close proximity to rich sources of iron sand, charcoal, and water, it was a natural choice for skilled craftsman of old, and remains so today. Mcusta, located in Seki City, blends traditional artistry with modern technology, which may be where it gets its name meaning "modern custom." Each of its knives is laser cut, CNC machined, and assembled and finished by hand to ensure the utmost quality.
